Last I heard was that Nokia were taking back control of Symbian sometime early this year.

I guess it still remains open sourced, one can request for the code even after nokia took the development in house. BTW for resolution issue, can't the screen be stretched as in palm os emulator?

Possible, but since the screen ratios aren't the same, 5:3 (I think) and 16:9, it wouldn't look good.

seems like emulator would be better but booting from s^3 vould be easier but noone who knows how to seems to be interested.

n900 has similar hardware to nokia symbian devices, so it will not be so hard to port it.

I think thinking about screen resolution should be on the later. Cause no one seems to be interested in porting this.

EasySym, running on top of Maemo. It'd allow for more software, like the Symbian Ovi Maps, so why not. Though I doubt we could get our hands on an Ovi Maps installation without a licence of some sort.
