Loving it! website is a little too small for my n900 browser... still will be awesome!
Will have to have places where it is totally safe, like in elite where the further you got from civilisation the less police are about therefore more piracy... X2 The Threat used gates to jump from one solar system to another whereas Elite was hyperdrive from wherever you want. Would be awesome to start off with a spaceship where eventually you can by yourself a station or mine and then sell off the ore for whatever orice you want build defenses, hire protection etc...
Sounds awfully complicated! Busy working on a space trader like dope wars in excel at the moment. Is hard enough to do! Am stuck on the economics, as need to make an incentive to travel to dangerous areas.
