I know my posts may seem long at times...(not always..I'm sure )
And I DO know when I do explanatory an walk through of something I have done, I like to be as thorough as possible and cover every possible angle of explanation of process so as to avoid confusion in the reader.

Consequently walk through explanations from me,
for the reader,
tend to the realm of " tl;dr ..or "skimming over" (hell I would! )
but I do suggest reading the walk throughs ..
They have all been heavily edited to cut out the "ifs" "ands" and "buts"
and are as concise as humanly possible.

hmm...concerning the torrent or file hosting problem...
How far are you from Hardy?
Have you considered sending it via trebuchet?

I don't want to use my HDD to install another system. I want to create a system on a portable memory and as you wrote take it everywhere I want, use it and be happy with it. Right now I can't do anything because all work has to be copied to another memory.
In LiLi, I can't enable persistence, because there is no option for this. The same goes for Rufus and UUI.
As far as I can see the persistence is only available for Ubuntu tree.

Can you answer to me this questions?
1. Is this possible to create a persistent live system on USB flash from SOLYDmaemo.iso? (I would prefer simple yes/no)
2. What program do I have to use to achieve point 1? (LiLi, Rufus, UUI, DD, other)
3. Does creating .sblive (from systemback as far as I know) make it possible to put it on USB stick and use it as live persistent system? (yes/no)

Systemback will do it.

BUT to make things easier and less complicated
for starters......
make sure you do make your usb BEFORE you start loading up your distro with work...
just to make sure you are not complicating the process ...
If you have never used systemback before ...I suggest it.

Systemback HAS an "enable persistence" check box IN it's process ..
you do have to "click" it on.

Just follow the guide...
In fact ...
here...

https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/using-systemback/13062

There are a number of tutorials, Q&A, and explanatory essays on the web concerning Systemback.

Read up.
Make a copy of the SOLYDmaemo iso...
Play around with Systemback with a test copy...
Follow any old Systemback tutorial for doing a copy to usb with enabled persistence...

It is a simple process once one gets the hang of it.

Have fun.

fantastic, splitting the iso into parts is definitely a wise thing to do, and after that user could combine them into one after downloading if its possible. it is right ?

rar the iso into small rars...
then file share all the itty bitty baby rars together.

then once ALL the rars have been successfully downloaded ..
unrarring or extracting the 1st rar "should" chain the rest into the complete iso.

It "shouldn't" work...
it is a given that it "will" work ...
as long as the process is done correctly.

I do suggest when rarring the distro into parts..use the "highest quality" compression option...
It will mean there will be more little rars ..but the overall file integrity will be bulletproof .

So to sum it up ...
rarring will keep the file integrity of whatever contained ...pristine and uncorrupted.
and it is a common thing to split a rar up into smaller rars.

I'd wish you good luck...but there isn't a need...no luck involved here

hmmm...

back to the issue of the distro and using systemback.
Before I forget...

please remember to make your copies of the iso BEFORE mucking around with it.
For backup purposes naturally....
in case anything you do (deliberately or not)..
borks the distro

Especially... considering that SOLYDmaemo is starting to get a little long in the tooth..
a few new releases of SOLYD have passed since then..
If you go updating the SOLYDmaemo distro at any point....
I cannot fathom if all will turn out well or not..
since I haven't tested such issues in a while now.

(been busy working on an antix maemo devel distro as the natural successor ..or as I like to call it..."Anti-mo"...)
Date ready: completely unknown at this point.

This is probably the last time I try using SOLYDMaemo.
As you can see in the attachment the systemback main window is almost whole inactive. Before you ask - I can't also click "Next" in "System copy/install" when partitions are shown and I have nothing to repair.
There is no way to do anything with systemback. It's useless.

This
to my understanding...
No one yet has had an issue ...where they could not install solydmo ...

It appears that this is a partitioning issue.
as in "already mounted partitioning issue"
I am not sure of your exact methods of install you have or are trying to accomplish...
If you are trying to install solydmo from the running iso directly to a usb .....without first "installing" solydmo onto a hard drive...
that may be the issue...

Reading up on how to use and troubleshoot systemback may help you better than I can in trying to fathom what steps you have done...what steps you haven't ...how you are implementing it..

Solydmo is not useless, please do not use blanket statements...
for you ..currently ....it is an issue....
which hopefully can be resolved.

The only problems that have been had with solydmo are..
A couple of people in the past have gotten upset at the fact that solydmo would not install the way they wished...
Unfortunately their intended me method was their belief that solydmo was to be installed directly on the n900...
past their misunderstanding....
there has not been any problems with it .

This coming Monday -Tuesday
I will try to find time to work on a copy of solydmo and see if I can replicate your situation.

Patience please...
this is simply my own effort involved ..
I do what I can when I have the time for the enjoyment , ease-of-use, and benefit of fellow members.
there is no corporate salary or benefits..
and the complaints department has little sympathy .

UPDATE:

Actually ...
I am a little obsessive when it comes to puzzles and solving things and such ...
and could not wait to figure out what the problem was.
So I sat down right after the writing of the above post and went through your posts and issues...
Answering your last questions posed..
and
Replicated the issues accordingly...

Last questions posed :

quote
"Can you answer to me this questions?
(yes/no)"
unquote

Answers:

Answer #1 - "Simple NO"
(proper explanation here *)

Answer #2- Lili is nice, UUI is nice , DD is fine,
Rufus works fine .
I use Rufus all the time .
Works Great.
Easy to use, not complicated, and works on pretty much any distro I have tried.
BUT NONE OF THEM WILL DO WHAT YOU WISH IN REGARD TO QUESTION #1
(please again refer to the more detailed and thorough explanation here * )

Answer #3- Yes (and I am not going to go into further detail on the issue here)

* The problem you are experiencing is that you are asking too much of systemback and it's ability.

The iso of the distro is the standard solydx distro iso..no extras ... past the maemo oriented material available on it ....
and systemback ..
to avoid any potential conflicts during installation...
none of which interferes with normal installation of the iso as a whole.

The issue you are having is that you wish to copy the mounted iso using Systemback on the iso ....(to a usb, sd or other form..)

or to use some colorful explanation...
instead of in the shipyard like everyone else.
you are trying to build a boat..while ON a boat.

As per your previous mentions of not wanting to use a hard drive
or
even partition briefly..
a space just big enough for the installed distro..
to then immediately utilize systemback to install to another device (usb, sd, etc..)

Systemback's ability is to take AN INSTALLED distro and work with it.

Systemback's abilities are deliberately limited working from INSIDE a mounted distro iso.
Not by my doing, but by the nature of the process of utilizing a mounted iso .
Other such apps and programs like systemback will ask exactly the same of you.
This is not an issue with Systemback specifically.

Hence the limited use you are experiencing with systemback on the iso.

To utilize Systemback properly...

installation ...

as I have stated in the very detailed and specific walkthrough...
must be done first.

Then systemback can alter and copy and replicate and install , (and all the other little goodies it can do) since it then has full permissions to do so.

to use a suitable comparable...
In essence what your desire is .. ..
Is to take a Christmas wrapped xerox printer and expect it to print a document for you without first unwrapping and opening the box and setting it up to be able to print said document for you

You can still use the Solydmo iso and what it has on it...
But until you actually follow-through with the instructions of proper installation and then deployment of your desire...
you are limited in your use.

Sorry man..
wish I could change the fundamental nature of the processes involved..
But I don't make the rules...
I just work within the parameters of them.

Note to all:
Please understand the instructions, directions, abilities and parameters in walkthroughs and refer if necessary to the methods of usage makers of specific programs offer. (for example Systemback)

I'm not telling SOLYDmaemo is useless, but systemback in this case indeed is.

I'm using clean .iso freshly written to USB flash using LiLi.

I figured I have to make a .sblive from .iso using systemback a while ago after reading through the stuff. The problem is I can't even make an installation on any of my HDDs. I can unmount them, change partition time, set formating, but button "Next" is greyed all the time.

I'll try to install it to another USB flash in a few days.

Ok.
my mistake and typo there ...
I did not mean to write Solydmo...I meant Systemback in that statement.

I suggest using rufus instead of lili .
If the intent is to properly install the iso to a partition on a hard drive.

If however ...as you say... you are ...

quote
"I figured I have to make a .sblive from .iso using systemback "
unquote

(you can try ...but I am not sure you will meet with anymore success than before...)

you are not understanding the fundamentals here.

IT WILL NOT WORK.
it won't work with systemback or from any other such type program.
It won't work ....because systemback is installed already in the distro in the iso.
Use of systemback directly from a mounted ISO is thusly limited.

YOU MUST FIRST INSTALL THE DISTRO ...NORMALLY.
AS IN ....

USE SOLYDX's INSTALL ICON.

DO NOT USE SYSTEMBACK FOR THE SYSTEM INSTALL.

JUST INSTALL THE DISTRO.....NORMALLY.

(that installs and unwraps the system and programs ...including systemback....properly...THEN you can use systemback)

THEN you can utilize the distro and all on it....including systemback
