A workaround could be to put the package on yet another repository, but i would like to avoid this as much as possible.

Good luck ;-)
Thanks for being persistent in getting this bug fixed.

Rapier finally has disappeared from my "Check for updates" list.

Thanks to Eduard Bartosh, the issue i had with the autobuilder is now fixed.

Debian packaging can be though sometimes...

So, if everything worked as expected, Rapier should now be available in the diablo extras repository.

Is there any error message if you launch "rapier" from a terminal ?

Had you some previous version installed ?

What is the output of :

dpkg -l sword
dpkg -l python-sword
dpkg -l clucene-core
dpkg -l rapier
gconftool-2 -R /apps/osso/rapier

Did you change data_path recently ? If yes, from where to where ?

An terminal should be available in the default menu. Once it opens, just type 'rapier' and see what happens.

If you had it installed before, and removed it, chances are you also removed the modules installed. In the output of 'gconftool-2 -R /apps/osso/rapier' data_path is the directory name where rapier thinks module are stored. If they are not there anymore, well, bad things may happen

You can erase all preferences with

gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/osso/rapier

Carefull with this command, you may erase lots of other preferences if you forget to write the path correctly.

You may also want to try to uninstall everything that is rapier related, and install it again on top of the gconf cleaning.

As root:

apt-get update
apt-get remove sword
apt-get install rapier

I installed rapier on n800/diablo and it, well, sort of works. No modules are included, so I told it to download them, and it sits there forever. I turned debug on and it said timed out

Rapier starts
download_mods_list(self,'ftp://crosswire.org/pub/sword/raw/mods.d.tar.gz','file:///home/user/MyDocs/tmp/mods.d.tar.gz')
problem getting a file Handle='End of file'
download module list did not work

I tried downloading that file using the tablet web browser and it worked, so I checked my linux router/firewall and see the tablet connecting to my proxy, and nothing happens after that!

any ideas?

Hi there.

I think i know what happens about the Cannot regexp '"Gen 1:1"' error: the gconf default value for this key was badly written. This should be fixed (actually, workarounded; i understood what happen later on) in the latest version available in the extras repository.

I am a bit puzzled about the proxy issue. All file transfert are made using gnome vfs.

As i never meant to take care of any proxy setting, i m surprised it automatically used your proxy settings, though i do not know why it is not receiving any data.

The most easiest workaround would be to install the modules with a connection that does not involve a proxy.
