I followed your instructions, and all seemed to go well. I am still in red pill mode and have not restarted. If all *seems* OK, should I now restart to see if applet appears?

If nothing failed, then please restart .
I only said not to restart if it failed because then effectively, your tablet is bricked without a reflash if it cannot start xserver. (Although if you have Fanoush's excellent initfs installed, you could fix it)

@arjun-giri

That looks odd. Were all the deb files from the sse2 site installed?

I don't know if redpill works or not; I used dpkg as described on the page linked in the first post.

EDIT: Guess it does work...

Same here but I got no extra output when installing with dpkg so I assume it must work if application manager doesn't report the install as failed for lm2

Does anybody have the same problems ?
Looks like a kernel issue from here; have you rebooted after flashing kernel?

Hey, I got to add one more Thanks!

Success!! I can confirm that red pill worked just as qwerty12 described.

Thanks a million.

Am I correct in assuming that if fanoush comes out with an updated kernel that I'd like to have, I can follow qwerty12's instructions and end up with all the good new stuff and still have everything else work as before?

Just trying to get the weakest of grasps on how some of this works...

Yes, the instructions would be the same but you would naturally download and untar a kernel with a different file name. (Actually not always, sometimes the new kernel can still have the name as the old kernel)

(Just make the changes with the wget, mv and kernel_flash command). The kernel flasher will almost certainly remain the same.

If a feature doesn't exist in a new kernel you want flashed, then naturally, that feature will be gone.

That's why I wanted Fanoush to update his kernel rather than flashing the one at the original post.

Fanoush is great and usually includes the best stuff anyway.

, glad it worked

On a separate note, has anyone noticed the camera isn't working or is it just me?

I ran cameratest from the terminal and it complains about overlay. When I open my camera, the screen stays black but if I take a picture, it takes it fine.
