Thank you to everyone that replied to my message. To be honest I was expecting a few crude remarks and people telling me to just give up but I do appreciate the feedback and am going to just continue to read as much as i can about how things work and what these commands all mean.

Again thanks for understanding where im coming from and the support. Any idea on a web site that i could go to and learn more about the programs and terms that could benafit me with my n810? I dont have anything else running linux and dont really intend on getting something but I do want to know all that i can about the n810. I work with windows and a couple of Macs with OS X but mostly image editing and page layout programs. Not with developing and/or programing.

Again thanks to all

Try this link, it gives a (very) brief overview of some more commonly used Linux commands:

I would actually recommend checking out a book on UNIX from your local library. That's the route I took and that helped me immensely!

Also, if you don't know what a command does, try googling "man <name of command>" and checking what comes up

For reference the tablet by default uses a busybox implementation of the "sh" shell so if you get a reference book, make sure you check what shell implementation it's for. (Most are for sh, with references to other shells)

Also, Mac OSX is built on a BSD core and so if you open up the "Terminal" program (Located in /Applications/Utilities) you can use the same UNIX commands there as on your tablet. This might help you get used to the command line interface

Hope this helps!
