Another game working perfectly.

TOS: TOS 2.06
System: CPU 68040, STE, Real Time Clock Emulation, Patch Timer-D
Screen: Fullscreen, Zoom ST-low res., RGB Graphics, Frame Skip 0
Hatari Version: 1.20
Sound: Low Quality

The game seems to run at full speed. The mouse is a little off, but like I have been saying move it to the corners. Once it is lined up it stays that way. It's playable and emulated perfectly.

Midi Maze

This brings up an interesting problem. You need the ALTERNATE key on the ST keyboard to set this for Solo play so you can play without a MIDI ring of ST computers. I do not know how to get an ALTERNATE key on Hatari. I will have to dig into the code and see if it is mapped to something.

Seems to work well as far as it goes, has mouse or joystick control and is low res...

Course, if I could get iMaze to compile in maemo we wouldnt need this lol...

Wierd Dreams

tos 1.2 us (doesn't seem to work with UK roms)
Plays 90% full speed (which on this game actually helps) is a med res game but doesn't use the mouse (joystick game)

I had a love hate relationship with this game back in the day... (mostly with this first part trying to get out of the cotton candy machine...)

Hey, I sure wish you two guys would devote as much dedication to the Dosbox thread as you are to this one.

But oh well.

Any chance you could test, James Bond: The Stealth Affair?

That's probably the only game I would be interested in trying out.

Thanks!

Well, you know, I would but I dont have much in the way of old dos software. I have been an Atari guy since the early 80's and that makes for a LOT of software laying around.

Speaking of which I will look through those boxes of software and see if I have that one lying around. if I do I will make a image out of it and try it out for you.

Now if the NIT could handle Mech Warrior 2 in Dosbox then I might have something to use dosbox for... Course, I would have to find the dos version of it...(I only have the accursed windows version which as far as I can tell doesn't run on anything anymore...)

I do love dosbox, but I think it will be more relevant when the next maemo platform is released. It simply isn't fast enough to play the games i want to play. Sometimes I suffer through the speed issues and play Masters of Orion, but its painful. The great thing about Hatari is that the current platforms can handle the games. Many of the games seem to run fast enough to be playable.

As soon as the platform is fast enough to play X-Com, I'll be all over it.

I was going to look into the keyboard map for the same issue. I bet you can map the ALTERNATE key via a mapping file. I am also not sure how to do numbers or the F keys on my n810. It does kill some of the games who ask you to select the number of players or hit an F key for something.

Why don't you just use Xkbd with one of my left or right sided keyboard layouts?

Based on the screenshots you two have posted, it should fully fit pixel perfect outside the screen area and it has all of the function keys as well.

Troubles solved.

Because I didn't buy an N810 to use a software keyboard.

Really though Addison I use your xkbd layout all the time on my N800 for Hatari, DOSBox and my own port Atari800 (I even posted it in my recommendations for making the emulator usable on the N800) but I really want to stay clear of software keyboard on the N810 if I can.

I have just finished poking through the code, and I dont know what possesed Nokia to give us 2 shift keys and make them BOTH LShift I mean c'mon, I was planning on robbing a RSHIFT and making it ALT since The Atari ST does have both an ALT key and a CTRL key. When this didnt work out I thought - I dont remember ever having to use the CTRL key on my ST - so I remapped the CTRL key to return an ALT key.
If I find a use for the CTRL key I may remap it to send both and see what happens.
I didn't update my zip file (www.n8ftl.com/maemo) yet because I want to be fairly sure it doesn't seriously break something else before I give this one out...

For now I have a working Midi-Maze and it plays full speed.

I've just fired Hatari back up in the past few weeks. I still think its a fantastic emulator for the NIT.
