Haha I have everything from that game too. Have you played its spiritual successor made by the same developmental geniuses? Supreme Commander? That thing still chugs modern PCs due to its physics calculations in the game for every shot and every unit.

Anyway game wise, probably emulators would be first. Then maybe games like Pharaoh or Caesar III (kinda like Sim City but more in depth).

Indeed a good ScummVM port would be nice.

I was shocked to see how poorly it ran on iPod Touch 2G, it didn't seem any better than on my Xperia X1. This would imply it was not using any graphics acceleration on either as they are fairly matched CPU wise but the iPod should blow the X1 away once you start using the GPU. Even more bizarre as the X1 was running in VGA mode but the iPod was closer to QVGA.

Mind you, the problem with ScummVM seems to be that as its ported to just about anything - it does not get optimised for anything except x86.

Other than that, some of the Popcap games would be nice. Basically, stuff that is popular on mobile phones. I can't imagine playing GTA with a touch screen personally, Pinball is not all that brilliant.

Its about time someone made a bluetooth joypad that included a dock for your touch screen phone. That would be REALLY useful to take with if you know you are going to have a long journey. It would certainly be a lot easier than carrying a DS/PSP in your other pocket.

I think people have made those things for the iPhone (well not sure if it's bluetooth or it uses the Apple dock connection). I just don't think it's in mass production yet.

GTA 2 or 3 with accelerometer for directional controls would be insanely awesome. I actually thought of this last night and came here just to post it, turns out i'm not the only one

Just to bring some of you into reality.

Porting a game/program requires a source code. So, big games name requires the one whom made it to port it which means a community can't do anything regarding this and for obvious reason ($$$) Game Studios are less likely to port their closed source games to maemo5 in its current state.

Just an exception to the branded games titles, It can be happening on emulators in case if someone wondering about playing Mario

On the bright side, porting an open source game/program is more likely to be possible and those we might see on maemo.
As a suggestion, try to search for: "Top 10 linux games"or some thing similar (OSS).

To name few , I'd say:
- Neverball & Neverputt (Bounce/Monkeyball like game)
- RACER: The Real Deal | (Some screen shots: -1- | -2- | -3- )
- Teeworlds (2D - Like Worms)

-Some thing less important *Ignorable*-
When internettablettalk shifted into talk.maemo did they the remove any account below 5 posts? It seems I can't login with any of my nicknames that I can think about even tried to request for password through many emails. It gets on my nerve when I start forgetting things.
Anyway, t's just not a big deal, but It would be better than "Joined on Sep 2009"

Which game has performance problems in ScummVM?

Doomsday Project (enhancement engine for Doom) and eDuke32 w/ DukePlus and HRP for both of them.

Full 3D Doom 1 & Duke Nukem 3D ftw <3

Also, pSX since the requirements for it are very low and it runs the game very well. Original Playstation games without the need of a PSP on the go...would be worthwhile. Too bad the source isn't available for it. T_T

can't people just take the PSX emulators for PC and code them for Maemo? does everything on Maemo have to be official? I like how the system is open, but i hate at the same time how it is closed...
