Hello,

thanks for this great program Slocan! It's far better than the build-in RSS-Reader

For me it work's great.

Just two questions:

1. What about a Desktop-Widget?

2. Is there a possibility to update the feeds automatically every 10 min?

Bye

1. Yes, I'd like a Desktop-Widget too. We'll see when I get around to it. I can also help if someone is interested in taking it on.

2. My idea is to enable auto-updates in the widget, so the app doesn't need to stay on.

If you have specific ideas on what the widget should display, or do, please feel free to write it down in a feature request here (less chance for it to get lost among a multi-page thread):

Hello,

Many thanks for this very useful application !
I was becoming frustrated by the built-in RSS reader...

One feature I would _love_ would be to select the article I want to download fully. Then when I get the internet connexion back, the RSS reader will retrieve all the articles marked as 'to be retrieved' and could display it offline.

Another secondary feature would be to keep the old articles until expiration (based from instance on date or max number of article).

Again, thanks for this very useful application !

Thanks to some offline info evil_m0nkey sent me, I tracked down the issue.

Just for reference, to reset the list of feeds, you can run the following in the X-terminal:
mv /home/user/.feedingit/feeds.pickle /home/user/MyDocs/

@SaintGermain: Not a bad idea. I'll try to think about it for later.

One suggestion for the widget..

I think listing the topic of each and have a autoscroll like the maemo standard one is useless. I subscribe to over 10 feeds so there are to much topics. I don't read them all...

I would like to see a list of each feed-subscription instead and the number of New feeds in each feed-subscription. Clicking the feed opens FeedingIt on that feed.

Auto-update would be nice (but should be also available if no widget is installed). Maybe you can make it like Modest where you can choose "Only update on WLAN"?

Disclaimer: For advanced/experienced users only (installing unknown .deb files is more dangerous than enabling extras-devel):
* New icons from claesbas!
* Auto-updates of feeds
* Preliminary support for archived articles
* Configuration window
* Expiry of articles based on time, rather than new update content

There are a couple of known issues with it, so it's not in extras-devel yet. The window animations are messed up when going Next/Previous on articles, and the Archived Articles feature hasn't seen much testing at all. But there shouldn't be any deal-breakers. If you'd like a preview, you can download the 0.4.1-2 .deb file here:
https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=1202

I'm interested in feedback on the auto-update (and in particular the interruption it can create), and if you think the way the archived articles work is sane (when viewing summary article, you select "Add to archived articles" in the menu, and a new Feed on the main page will appear. After the next update, the whole article should be available).

I'll probably make a extras-devel/extras-testing release this week-end, if i can get this fixed.
