That is still very-very poor security. Unless the package is linked to your IMEI and/or runs in some protected environment (hello DRM) it takes just one person to spread the .deb. But I agree with twaelti, it might be 'open' for those probe-balloon purposes. Even with the iPhone people pirate stuff. And those guys are doing EVERYTHING to prevent it. Compared to that, Maemo 5 is a walk in the park, making any (tech-side) effort near-pointless. So, really, as bad (good?) as it may sound, the main test here is that of buyer honesty.

why buy or bother pirating such a game anyway?
there are so many free flash-games with the same concept out there that are just as fun as angry birds.

I have contacted Nokia about this already but I haven't received any information yet.

Thanks all for your support about still buying the game, it's well appreciated.
As I checked the level pack 1 is available from the browser-based ovi thingy after payment, but from command line "# apt-cache search angry" will show that it is in the apt's catalogue and it also downloads and installs. I would assume everything is downloadable if they are listed - which shouldn't be the case, clearly store is instead of beta a bit alpha I would say

I checked the ovi-repository definition in Application Manager after the update. I was expecting similar individual address as with Nokia binaries in scrachbox. The url was clear without any identifying data, so I was thinking that there has to be some other implementation, so that the customer info from the browser is transferred via Application Manager to the apt-get downloading the package from the repository; i.e. the customer is identified and can download only those packages which are free or paid.

(private repository url's could be the same way as in scratchbox Nokia binaries are set: "deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/[UUID here] nokia-binaries". The difference is that the identifying info would be in the url, not in some cookie etc. that is transferred over the connection)

@NvyUs, not actually swipe, just press. I believe that there are help pictures at the beginning of the levels with special birds?

I just tried to buy it, but got an error. My credit card was charged...

Is this link working?

http://store.ovi.com/content/23857 I get:

"Item unavailable

Sorry, this item is no longer available."

the store seems to be a bit alpha atm. i would suggest trying again tomrrow... likely your link will start working once they've ironed out the problems.
