Sure they will be, but all they can do is find out who is distributing it and go after them.

If the app developers want to implement protection, they're welcome to try. If they -expect- my device to do so, they can go home. Certainly, I bought the N900 because it didn't implicitly give control of my device to some 3rd party, and treat me (the owner!) like the enemy.

All of you could access products from device? I have to search for url on browser in pc and then enter it on device explorer...

Well, set up our own shop, half price on all .deb's

EDIT- I will pay as long as i have control

Yes. I used the Ovi store bookmark that was preinstalled in the browser.

Actually, unless you want your device to dabble in 100% free content, you'll have to EARN their trust before they would sell to you something you want. DRM system can provide this for them.

What worries me most about this new system of handling paid apps is that I can't see how it can handle updates. Am I missing something?

No - I don't see how either. I guess they could prompt you about updates when logging into the OVI store, but I don't see any way to integrate it with the normal updates.
