Yes. Installed because I use other options, plus I like to have the ability to. But no need thus far, I want to either ring or not :P

The maemo repositories (the place where the packages are) seems to be broken at the moment. They were broken yesterdays as well for several hours. Try again tomorrow or so, they'll probably be back up.

Created new alarm "Test" to switch profile. Didn't work. Command execution still does (just checked). Attached is output from alarm_queue.ini and alarmed.py, before and after. Anything else let me know.

Allright, couldn't resist installing alarmed last night. GUI looks good, could be improved in some ways but I'll have to think about how.

First thing I did was entering an entry for switching profile in the morning and it just worked! This morning the profile was set correctly.

One thing 'Im still missing from "Best Profiles" ist the ability to make some noise when switching the profile. I guess that should best be implemented where the profile gets switched, i.e. within tweakr; but probably it could instead take place in alarmed?

When entering a command execution, could you please add a button for selecting a file / script? Would make life a bit easier when not having to enter the full path for already existing scripts.

All in all: I already love this app! Great work!!!

Some suggestions for the GUI:
  • when having weekly repeating with many days selected, the line in the list view becomes very long and the list gets a vertical scrollbar; could you abbreviate daynames so the whole line fits on screen? I guess, standard abbreviations (three letters) should be as clear as long daynames.
  • when selecting the repeat mode one has to scroll a long way down while there is less than half of the screenwidth occupied. Would it be possible to put the entries in two rows side by side?
  • when editing an entry it would be better to name the button 'save' and not 'edit'. 'Edit' might imply it opens an additional editor for the name of the entry while changes get saved implicitly when closing the dialogue.
  • when adding a new entry could you make it first starting with a dialogue for selecting the type of entry? Now I get the detail page, have to open the type field, select the wanted entry and wait another second for the detail page to update. This is not as smooth as it could be.

This should now be fixed

Thanks. I just edited out the -c now and at least for me it's still working, and I hope it also works for you lot now. Does it?

Added to planned feature list, easy to do.

Looking into it, should be easy.

You probably mean horizontal? The list looks crappy at the moment anyway. This is, because pyside doesn't implement all the list functionality from Qt. I'll improve the list once the new pyside release is out (might take afew weeks).

Not impossible, but a bit non-standard imo.

Good idea. Done.

What do you mean by "detail" page? If you're talking about the tweakr profiles: That can't go any faster, because everytime you open that menu, the app gets a fresh list of tweakr profiles, which I think is important in case you edited them in the meantime while alarmed was open.

Of course I meant horizontal. Scrolling from left to right, yes. Sorry.
Couldn't you anyways shorten the daynames, regardless when any update of some library comes out? Ending up with scrollbars horizontal and vertical makes the list less comfortable than possible.

Standards might change. In the very beginning of touchscreen devices it might have been a good idea putting such items in one long list, but that was more due to low resolution than to overall usability. I'm thinking about something like splitting every line into two half, each half behaving as a button. Scrolling up (down would work as it does now. But I see that it is way out of your concern implementing this. Will consider filing a brainstorm about that.

With detail page I mean the details of the cirrently edited entry itself. Not some submenu like tweakr-profile. When changing the type of entry this page changes it's buttons. You know what I mean?
