Unless your argument is that most Apple users will watch the demo, then remember the key later, and pretend it's intuitive. In which case you're probably right. Such is the power of advertising.
heh, i have said before that the iphone ads apple runs are basically user guides in disguise...

Lame indeed.

Let me quote and change a couple words...

You know, there's a web browser on Android and it has access to porn sites. You can visit them, your kids can visit them. That's a place where we don't wanna go, so we're not gonna go there

I guess must be a difference, I'm just too blind to see it.

You know I really didn't understand where he was going with that statement. Is he suggesting that the only reason you would use an Android browser is to surf porn site? I mean come on bring some context with your reasoning, really.

No, the person you're quoting is creating a bad analogy.

A point made on ars:

It isn't even "think of the children" crap, it's "think of our pocketbook, but since you could rationalize your way out of that trap we'll suggest you want to give porn to kids and make you look bad."

Actually Steve's quote was
"You know, there's a porn store on Android and it has nothing but porn apps. You can download them, your kids can download them. That's a place where we don't wanna go, so we're not gonna go there"

I just changed a couple words (app store for web browser/websites) to illustrate that the end result is the same, just how you get there is different. I guess from their perspective they are not sanctioning it by accepting it in the app store. Though if it was open then they wouldn't have that culpability in the first place.

and then good ol' steve comes up with folders, my first phone from when i was in high school had the ability to create folders - Nokia ngage QD !!

his explaination for 3rd party sucked kangaroo b***s so did his excuse for not having multitasking by his comment on "blew up"

although how much I hate the iPhone, the OS is great coz it makes everything so simple for every tom dick & harry to do so !!
due to this one reason I actually recommend my friends and family an iPhone and not the N900 cause it would be waste of my time explaining them how to set up some basic stuff and ofcourse I don't have to mention the lack of apps on N900!!

dear steve

you copied just accept it.

sent from my (mighty) N900
You should have recommended the HTC Hero - much much much better than the iPhoneŽ!

If you're a parent and you care about what kind of media your (underaged) kids consume, you wouldn't let them browse the web unattended or without a managed proxy.

The iPhone supports disabling the browser and other apps that can be used to access web pages (because these apps are flagged in the appstore) in their parental control settings. You can manually bypass the lock via a passcode if needed.

I think they're pretty serious in catering to the 'family' market segment.

Those creeps, the multitasking is the worst kind! Its not multitasking, its stop-and-go-somewhere-else. They didnt make the best multitasking, they didnt even make real multitasking. Why do they make something that can be great bad? If all the apps running are running real-time its multitasking for sure, and thats what Maemo 5 does.
What is the meaning of multitasking? To do something else while something else is in progress. I can f. ex. play a game while installing a program on S60. See? S60 has better multitasking then iphone.

It's just marketing. They are not the best at multitasking, as the user above me said, it isn't even real multitasking. But hey, it's good marketing, and that is what Apple is all about
