Hi,

I made a new version (0.3), most bugs are fixed.
Thank you for test and reporting.
I like this community, not only are so many developers here, who
provide time to make and share applications. But also for the
users who are kind enough and willing to test new applications.
I know how annoying it can be when applets crashes and you
have to put everything back.
So, thank you again.

There is a bug in the prior version which causes hildon-home
crash, every time you remove this widget. That may happen
if you update to this version. It is not a fault with this version.

Birthdays should now be visible without any missing events.
The widget doesn't crashes if you remove some calendars
(smart calendar for example)

Long names of events are cut and they don't shrink the calendar-icon anymore.

The widget now updates the event list when the date changes.

There may still be calendars or events which are not recognized.
Please report back if you encounter such. And I have no synchronized calendar entries to test this.

regards
nicolai

Do I need to unistall the current version first or just update the installed version?

wow it's really great love it, and definitely SO much better than the default widget.

one thing that could make it better though: can you get the month text (June in this case) to properly align to the right (to the colored squares on the right) and center vertically? also, it would be great to have the day name (e.g. Saturday) to align left with the entries below.

ideas further improvements: maybe clicking on each entry could open up the relevant calendar entry view? i mean clicking on a listed appointment would open up that appointment's detailed view?

Just update the installed version.
But as I wrote, it may happen that hildon-home crashes.
And you have to add the other widgets again.

No, I like the way it is :-).

Good idea, but maybe it is hard to tap the right entry. I can try.

Thanks nicolai - the birthdays now appear to be working correctly!

I also wanted to say that I've noticed another thing your widget does better than the stock widget - you don't remove an appointment until it's finished whereas the original widget removes them once their start time is reached (which is a pain if you're late for something!) You're awesome!

i really need it, i'd like to see where's my next lesson on widget instead of open calendar(i know i'm lazy, but it's a way to minimize actions when i'm late! )

Sorry, but there is hardly enough space to include additional information.

You can put multiple widgets on the desktop already. For example,
you can put a "one-week" calendar widget for business stuff and
a "one-year" calendar widget for birthdays.

However, they disappear off the calendar widget once they are "past due". If I could have two widgets going, I could use one for tasks, that show +- 1 month from todays date. This way I could better manage tasks, since tasks on the N900 are poor. Maybe even past due stuff in red.

I don't want to include other types of events (todo, notes).
I would prefer to make a separate widget.

Right!
And has someone found out the different behaviour for
recurrent events?

One of the most ridiculed aspects of the stock calendar widget used to be its lack of the exact time of appointments. I realize there isn't a lot of space for it, but it would be really nice to see at what time every appointment is.

If there is room to expand the widget vertically (large view), then wouldn't it be possible to expand it horizontally as well, if you check an option to show time as well as date?

Thanks Nicolai, this is a great widget.

A To-do widget would also be much appreciated :-)

I'm curious now, what happens for recurring events?
