300 meters minimum because with that atleast i could roam around my house and my collection is way too big to be carried around
probably i am asking wierd or sounds weird as you guys have 3g lots of wifi spots and many ubquitious services devices etc but i dont have any facility
so i am thinking of getting a high speed dsl connection or something hook to a wifi and be able to use on portable devices like n900 to the maximum distance possible

Nokiabot, I think you are not going to get what you want for a reasonable price. Although WIFI and Bluetooth use unallocated spectrum there are probably legal requirements as to their range for consumer products. 300m in every direction is a huge distance and you are bound to cause interference or get interference from other devices.

Well I think it is (in theory - with ideal conditions) possible to get 1 kilometer Wifi range with ~8,5 MBit/s but there shouldn't stand something in signal's way. You have to build a 'Cantenna', connect it with your router and fix it on your roof/ window. I found a very good and technical article here about building such an antenna by Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany). It also contains a calculater for the perfect can-diameter and important information. You can find other important informations about the right cable and signals-characteristics here (german text)

Please, don't wish that, you can clearly see my difficulty in setting up a 300m network. That's a suicide
Will the n900 be able to connect from said distances. I am fearing that as the suggesions mentioned here are doable so assume the router repeter or diy anteena are able to serve that distance . Ok . So now will the n900 or other devices will be able to connect to them from said distances? As I think the n900 definately needs its transmitter to be capable to transmit 300 meters for two way communication? Or I just need to recive the signals like fm radio does SO WHAT THE N900s transmitter capable of

I assume, your collection is on something like a media server in your house, then you don't need anything like DSL or 2G/3G connection... WLAN (with the mentioned repeaters) is all you need.
