well actually i'll say the n900 screen is sometimes less reponsive because you have to double tap icons, thumbnail ect, as the input got sucked into a black hole btw capacitive screen gives a better vkb experience when compared to a resistive... captain we need more sensitivity lol

better virtual keyboard experience? lol, who cares about that, smart people use HW keyboard most of the time
and there is no double taping on icons in maemo, even if there were it doesn't have anything to do with the responsivenes, you are mixing apples and oranges here

your n900 has a faulty touch screen and you need to buy a new n900, no other explanation for the behavior you are experiencing
or you are touching it wrong

I don't recall ever having that problem, but then I tend to tap with my fingernail rather than the pad of my finger. Hmm.

Ok, just trying to use the pads of my fingers, I do have more trouble getting directly over top of an icon. So yeah, that might be the problem you're seeing.

Of course, a resistive screen is not limited to skin contact the way a capacitive screen is. You can tap any way you like with any instrument you like. Don't let yourself be restricted to a capacitive way of thinking when using your n900.
