Hi I still get "Unknown Sender" in the notification! and sender number is "00000" in the list.

Reply as SMS doesn't seem to work.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I've had FMMS for a long time now, but all of a sudden when i went to send an MMS a few days ago, the program would not even open. I attempt to open it, and all it does is crash. I cant send or receive. Im on Tmobile USA.

Nothing opens up so I can't adjust any settings or anything. I uninstalled and installed again thinking that would fix it, but it solved nothing. Is there anyone that can suggest something to help me fix this issue? Is anyone else having this issue? Im running the latest version 1.2.4

Here's the log:

1. When i receive a message with a one picture and two lines of text, I can see only the top quarter of the second line, and can't scroll the message. More lines of text, or more pictures, and it scrolls perfectly with hand.

2. When I write a message, after 5 lines the screen doesn't automaticly scroll down to where the cursor goes. Makes it hard to write longer messages.

I'm using version 1.2.2, but these have been there all the time I have been using it. Would be nice if you could find some help to these, also being able to send more than one picture in one message would be super nice
Added both to todo-list, thanks for reporting!

I have tried to write only text and close. Write text and insert picture, and name. Where is FMMS supposed to save the MMS as a draft?
If you open sender, write a few lines and then goes back and then taps "New MMS" again the lines should appear there.

I'm not sure if you knew about this problem. fMMS is using the roaming data counter in my N900 also when I am in my home network. I had to disable the roaming warning in the N900 config to avoid high data transfer warnings when sending and receiving MMS.

Thanks.
Weird -- not seen any reports about this, will add to todo-list to investigate. Thanks for reporting!

Could you please tell me how to set up fMMS (V. 1.24) to send and receive MMS via softbank.ne.jp?
I tried, the fMMS can load MMS headers, but always fail to download the whole message.
Tried polite, rude, havoc but all failed.
Tried gconftool-2 -st string /apps/fmms/useragent "New UA String" from X-Terminal too without success.

Please please please help
Thanks
You need to replace "New UA String" with the string one of softbanks approved devices sends, which I can't remember of the top of my head but there is a post *somewhere* on this forum with it if you search iirc.

I do not get any sound alert for new MMS !

I do not get any visual alert for new MMS!

only way to know a new MMS has arrived is accidentially by opening multitasking window.

Please advise!
You need to enable the alerts for new e-mail message to get the alerts.

It's on my todo-list still - don't have much time these days unfortunately

Seems like either the database has been corrupted or your memory card, you can try the following, note that it will delete your MMS message list in the UI (messages are still present at /home/user/.fmms/mms):
rm /home/user/.fmms/mms.db
and then start fMMS, it should give you a new clear list and hopefully you can send/receive messages again.

Uploaded 1.2.5 to autobuilder/garage, this one should include updated source code... I might have missed that the last 2 releases, ops!

* shipping the code that was forgotten in previous release...
* added somewhat limited support for audio/video attachments
i.e. no reencoding is done so dont send huge files!
* translations updated

Say... a few months ago there was a question about supporting videos in fMMS. The answer then was:

Originally Posted by frals View Post

actually, the encoder is build into Maemo. Try on the command line:

$ gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location="/home/user/MyDocs/.videos/Nokia_N900.mp4" ! decodebin2 name=all \
hantromp4mux filetype=1 name=muxer ! filesink location="/home/user/MyDocs/.videos/outfile.3gp" \
all. ! queue2 use-buffering=TRUE ! videoscale ! "video/x-raw-yuv, width=(int)176,height=(int)144" ! videorate ! "video/x-raw-yuv, framerate=(fraction)15/1" ! dsph263enc ! muxer.
This is only as far as I got while experimenting for another reason, but it takes only 33 seconds on my N900 to reduce the 1min14sec promo-video from 33,4 MB to 763,8 KB. Given that things you want to send as MMS may be shorter and may be recorded in low resolution to start with this Gstreamer-thingie may be an option.

Problems: I couldn't get sound to work at all. In theory, the pipe should look like this to have both video and sound:

gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location="/home/user/MyDocs/.videos/Nokia_N900.mp4" ! decodebin2 name=all \
hantromp4mux filetype=1 name=muxer ! filesink location="/home/user/MyDocs/.videos/outfile.3gp" \
all. ! queue2 use-buffering=TRUE ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! nokiaamrnbenc ! muxer. \
all. ! queue2 use-buffering=TRUE ! videoscale ! "video/x-raw-yuv, width=(int)176,height=(int)144" ! videorate ! "video/x-raw-yuv, framerate=(fraction)15/1" ! dsph263enc ! muxer.
Never works. Probably something with buffering and whatnot - a Maemo/GStreamer expert would have to look at it. (Maybe it's easier to set up fom within an application when you can listen to and react to Gstreamer messages).

Also, I didn't get one effects working that would make 16:9-videos appear letterboxed in a 4:3 frame (which is not what I'd want, but probably people would expect this). More experimenting needed - it does work on the desktop with different encoders.

Maybe one could further optimize the quality/size by setting parameters... I did not looked into this at all.

Does in future be possible to add more images into one mms message and send to other people?

Yes Frals I too am interested in getting this issue fixed. I can only send pics to one person at a time. Where with normal mms you can send to multiple recipients. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And great work on this forum, and this goes to all that help out in any form.
