More and more I am tempted to jump the gun and install the pre 1.2 version...................................... must... resist!

Do it. Why not? The release candidate will be buggy, but maemo is buggy anyway, and you know the final 1.2 release will be buggy.

Well I want to thank you geneven. I realise that my joke reply about thread closure was confounding for some, and its intent was to (as unlikely as it was) stop a PR1.2 thread in its tracks.

Your great offense has achieved the same thing I believe as this has converted the thread to a bickering match between the two of us, which will interest no one and put a stop it.

So thanks again for participating, and perhaps we can get together on the next PR1.2 thread and do the same thing?

I prefer to wait 2-3 weeks more then having a unstable version and wait for 3 Month on 1.2.1 or 1.3

The date system is a universal API to interact with reality/rest of the world... they gotta use it (deadlines) so they don't lose touch with the rest of us...
