I can't see any other reason for this, we are all subject to the contract and cancellation conditions!
but didn't someone mention that some of us were sold unlimited internet and some of us 500mb?

I realy do HATE Vodafone
I used between 3-5gb the past 3 months
last month once they sent the text saying I was approaching the 500mb limit and if I went over I'd be charged, I went over by about 250mb just to make sure I was over, then all the cancellation letters
I even supplied the proof they wanted to show that I believed my bill would rise by more than 10%

now today I get the bill and the b@stards didnt charge me

what more can I do?

start going over again and again until they do charge me?

Yes true, I suppose those that were sold 500mb may not be able to argue the 10% rule as there was always the chance that Voda would enforce the soft FUP.

However I still believe that people have the right to cancel on the basis that Vodafone (in my case at least) have not notified it's customers of the changes to their contract with regard to the increase in data roaming charges. AFAIK these charges are now in place and I wasn't given any notice of this whatsoever! I think their contract states that they will give 14 or 30 days notice or whatever, which they haven't done and is therefore a breach of contract.

Again some people say that roaming charges do not form a part of the contract, but these charges are referenced in the contract and therefore regardless of whether the specific prices are published in the contract, they are still a part of it!

Just because Vodafone choose not to publish their charges in their contract doesn't mean they have free reign to charge people what they want for whatever service they want. My specific monthly cost for my tariff isn't shown on the contract, but I'm pretty certain that they couldn't suddenly decide to charge me double for the same service! I know this isn't the same as the enforcement of the FUP charges, but the principal is exactly the same in that the specific costs are not stated in the contract, they are only referred to in a general manner, but they still form part of the contract.

I hope this makes sense... I know what I mean!

Hi Lew247,

If you check your message from Voda you'll see it says they won't start charging until 1st Oct, therefore any usage up to that date will not be charged for.

However because you have received the text message you are in a position to cancel.

already done once I got the text, the letter is the first contact from them after sending in the cancellation letter along with proof of why I think my bill will rise by at least 10%

Also many emails to the directors office, I'm just totally dissapointed by Vodafone and have lost all respect for the company, I'd never use or recommend them to anyone after this fiasco

Yeah totally agree, they have all of the info they need already and in a much more use-able format than we can access it.

I suspect that they are just trying to make it more work for people to cancel and hoping that people cannot be bothered to do the legwork...

The latest from the directors office

Further to your recent contact in regards to Out of Bundle charging, we are writing to you to confirm that Vodafone is currently reviewing our position in regards to the cancellation of your account.

The charges don’t come into effect until 1st October and you would not be able to cancel your account before this date. If you are eligible to cancel, the cancellation will take effect as of the beginning of October 2010.
Now they are saying I cant cancel UNTIL the charges take effect, but before they said I HAVE to cancel BEFORE I'm charged.

Its getting so laughable now I'm wondering if someone is taking the p1ss

Or are they really THAT incompetent?

How long has it taken for you guys to get your letters? I sent my letter in over ten days ago and had a reply from KJ about a week ago but still haven't got a response?
