I've finally figured out just enough html and django to create a very rudimentary download page: https://qgvdial.yuvraaj.net/downloader/showAll

Please have a look (and be gentle...)

Looks good uvatbc! I am installing the new version. What's the changelog from .1657 to .1677?

I just installed the .1677 version on my N9. I think I found a bug... I don't see any contacts. All I see is a search bar at the top, and a 'Refresh' button underneath, which should be 'hidden' and should appear only when pulled down. When I do refresh, it says "Contacts fetched", but I still don't see anything.

I see that as well.
It looks like Google has finally deprecated the Contacts v1 API.
I've started working on using an OAuth library to use the v3 Contacts API.

Changelog:
All the bug fixes based on user logs uploaded by BB10 users.
These bugs are valid for all platforms.

New build: That contacts problem everyone's been having? Fixed.

Go get it: https://qgvdial.yuvraaj.net/downloader/showAll
Maemo users: Its in the repositories. Should be upgrade-able in a couple of hours.

Works perfect! That was quick thanks a lot uvatbc! I like the new verification method, don't have to worry about the additional long passwords for contacts anymore!

Excellent! But is it just me, or are contact pictures not showing up anymore?

I've changed the code for contact pictures to make it more robust. A known consequence is that pictures show up much slower than before.

You should first see a banner "Contacts fetched" and then much later a banner that says "Contact photos fetched".
5 seconds after the second banner, most of your contact photos should be visible.

If you still don't see anything, send me logs (as always)...

New build: This is a bugfix build for new qgvdial users: Most new users just start making calls with qgvdial and that almost always results in initiating a dial back call instead of a dial out call.
The symptom is:
1. User starts qgvdial for the first time, logs in. Default call method is sometimes the GMail dial back method.
2. User tries to call someone. qgvdial says "Dial back successful" but nothing happens on the phone because the dial back is targeting the GMail plugin.
3. The confused user tries calling again and at that point a "code=1" error is returned by Google Voice which qgvdial faithfully reports to the user.
Result: User confused, qgvdial unaware of what to do... and logs sent to me

I've added a message box if this happens.

Of course all this should indicate that this bugfix release will not affect more experienced users.
