So if Jolla doesn't change anything, Sailfish should probably work on dual-sim Xperia X as is.
Although I'm eager to get Sailfish with dual-sim support on F5122.
o hey man! This is some good news. Could you share a short guide with some links to firmware, please?

Firmware is here

You can use flashtool

Ps: flashtool can also download the firmware

Goes without saying that you will need to grab Service Exchange Unit firmware 34.0.A.1.264 to downgrade to Android 6.0.1 if you intend using DirtyCow exploit to backup DRM prior to unlocking bootloader.

Hello, please be kind if this seems stupid but why downgrading to Android 6? Because Sailfish can't be installed on 7?

Hello,
Just get a used Xperia X today around 200$ in my country (VN). After upgrade-loop, it now on 7.1.1. I dig around internet for offical 6.0.1 ROM but couldnot find version for my country (1302-3377 VN). So please help me clear:
1. Can I use ROM version from other country like HK or TW for my VN phone
2. Do I really need backup DRM keys, what happend if dont have these keys? I see someone post that it need when I resell this phone, but I dont have plan to resell any phone of mine (I still keep 1 N900, 4 N9s in my collection)
Thank you.

It's up to you, but once those keys are gone you cannot go back to 'full factory' the same as it was out of the box, those protected functions are lost forever.

forgive me, why does this drm key thing matter?

surely we will receive an officially supported image/installer, and we will be able to officially install it. what need for DRM keys...

should I care that i have updated my xperia X to 7.1.1+?

Well for one the slo-mo feature is lost once DRM keys are lost.

The Bravia screen tech is also lost.

EDIT: the camera quality also takes a nose dive.
