Yes, I was aware of that and am subscribed to the thread. Thanks though. I didn't consider it as an option yet, since it still is in -Devel, as far as I'm aware of.

Hmm. I seem to have some font trouble after installing latest update.

I have replaced the 4 nokia system fonts with my own custom font so that the custom font would be used everywhere. Now even if I edit the new font entry in transitions.ini and write my custom font name there, my custom font is not used throughout the whole system. in isolated places some other font is shown (e.g. calendar agenda view and foreca weather widget). Most places the custom font is used though.

This worked fine before the update. Any tips? It seems tht the handling of system fonts has changed a bit too much for my liking or then I have messed up something

EDIT: I managed to fix this:
- Copied the 4 original Nokia system fonts (nokia sans) back to /usr/share/fonts/nokia/
- Made sure that transisitions.ini was set to use 'Nokia Sans 15'.
- Rebooted
- Replaced the 'Nokia Sans 15' text in transitions.txt with my custom font name (Helvetica Neue LT Com 15'). Note, this font needs to be in one of the font paths (/home/user/.fonts or /usr/share/fonts)
- Replaced the 4 original Nokia system fonts in /usr/share/fonts/nokia with my custom font
- Rebooted and the custom font is again used everywhere in the system

I guess what went wrong was that the new transitions.txt file that came with this CSSU update had a reference to 'Nokia Sans' which wasn't on my system anymore. Then some other font got used instead in selected places. Doing the above was the only way to again get rid of this 'other font' and use my custom font everywhere on my system.

I'll probably need to repeat the above procedure every time there is a new transitions.txt file pushed by a CSSU update since that again will create a new reference to a non-existing Nokia Sans font. But at least now I have a nice how-to on how to fix it

  • bug #11858: Unexpected repeated button To:
  • bug #11859: No bottom send button anymore
  • bug #11874: Impossible to select text once the email is scrolled
  • Replaced osso-applet-notificationlight and osso-applet-display with FOSS clones by Nicolai Hess (cloes #11913 and #11932).
  • Merged Thomas Perl's patches to configure font size in the application menu.

And a quick note about the last two lines there.
Nicolai has rewritten both the "Display" and the "Notification lights" applets in Settings, at first glance, you won't notice any changes (after all, that's why they're "clones"), however, if you apply CTRL+SHIFT+R, then you'll see the applets are displayed properly now, I'll add portrait support to the control panel in a future update (need to check the rest of the applets that don't work).

As for thp's patch, it allows you to easily change the font used in the application launcher, just edit /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini and change the font in tile_font (task_nav section).

So thanks to nicolai and thp for their additions to the SSU
Also, thanks to naikel (not sure if he's on tmo) for the patches to modest.

I also added a preinst script to hildon-desktop, this should back up your current transitions in /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini.old.
Very great! thanks or everything. works like a charme.
Thx Nicolai for the notification clones.

Keep up the outstanding work!

I need to ask something about the new strings in transitions.ini.
Well, I copied over my own transitions.ini... but it seems I have overwritten the new strings.

Could someone plz. post the new strings.
I know there's
Code:
[thp_tweaks]
# Blurless desaturation (0 = default, 1 = MeeGo/Symbian-style)
blurless = 0

# Bigger task switcher (0 = default, 1 = single column, 2 = two columns)
taskswitcher = 0
what are the other new triggers? like the tile_font one mentioned above.
How should it look and where to put it ?
Are there any other new strings I overwrite.

also I really really hope for more transitions.ini additions.

Awesome job, guys. I know, there is a thanks button, but I somehow felt that wasn't enough. All updates applied, no problems so far.
Any chances on getting conversations fixed with twitter oAuth, btw?

Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure whether this is tru. I do see the entire microB experience. To see this; disable autorotate in microb and then I use shortcud to enable rotation. Then I get the landscape menu, but then in portrait

I use the short press action of the camera button to enable rotation. It can be found within the menu of shortcutd.

Cheers

I'm sure there are better ways but a relatively easy way to do it is to go to System - Application Management (not sure if this is the actual name, I run a non-English language) and from there select "Remove". Find the Maemo 5 Community SSU Package (Find: Ctrl+F "Maemo") and find your version there.
