So could I stream movies from Netflix on my laptop and have them go to my N810 via Knots2?
Netflix --> Laptop --> N810 ?

Just watch it on your laptop dude.
What you're asking doesn't make much sense.

2) Is there any way to add media in a folder but not media that are located in a folder underneath it?
3) I read that you can add image extensions to media to scan for but that they will be treated like '5 sec videos' - is there a chance that images will be given a more 'permanent' treatment in their own section in Knots?
As somewhat of a photographer I got hundreds upon hundred of photos I would LOVE to be able to 'stream' to my tablet
4) I assume that there is no 'auto-scan' on folders. If I add/remove any media to folders on my PC I will have to manually re-scan that folder right?
5) Any chance of adjusting the volume on the tablet by using the zoom-keys like Vagalume does?
EDIT: I can do this when playing videos - but not when playing music.
6) After 'adding missing covers' I get cover art on the actual song. But when browsing my music by album the folders doesn't show the album cover arts. Are cover arts only associated with individual songs and never at a higher level?
7) And now the newbiest question of them all...: How does it all really work? The server I'm running on my computer is viewed via a localhost:1978 page. Is the content that I sync actually stored somewhere else or is the localhost/server setup just creating an 'index' of media that the tablet accesses - and nothing 'leaves' my computer and gets saved somewhere else?

HELP !
hello guys
i need some help
am connected to my home's wireless router to the internet
i downloaded the knots server and ran vlc and started the server and i was able to add music to my collection on knots and everything was going smoothly on the pc. in the settings i did not modify anything really ( am using windows 7 )
i downloaded the client on my n900 and i was connected to the network just fine on my laptop.
i was able to browse my added files on knots from the n900 client BUT the problem is when i click a song on my n900 it shows that its playing but no music comes out. same with video as it shows the video play but no image is there
i can see the files on my n900 and can play them but with no actualy music or video coming out.
i have a k-lite codec media pack installed on my windows if that matters and also whenever am on my PC trying to play my added collection in the knots server THE SAME HAPPENS
on the PC flow player opens and then starts playing the song but no noise comes out. its a really annoying problem.
anyone can help me please ?

Because of the N8x0's lower speed, I've found that cartoons and anime are perfect under this without any transcoding of the video.
Ukki, however, is a cartoon hater so I don't think he's ever really seen the same pixel perfect results I'm getting on my end.
Anyway, I use it about once a day and watch a 24 minute episode in bed before crashing out for the night.
Thanks to knots, I pretty much stopped gaming entirely since this to me is so much more entertaining.
Janne has made the setup so easy that even I managed to get through it in about 4 minutes and that included downloading the two installation files on the computer along with the one needed for the tablet.
Check it out. Definitely one of the most creative apps available.
I've been using it for a few months now and it still puts a stupid looking smile on my face.
