It will clear something but not everything so beware of bug 7432 - /opt and /home/user not cleared after firmware reflash
After reflashing and before installing anything else it might be useful to do cleanup in /opt at least. Otherwise you will have some dead weight there which will be hard to find later.

you need over 45mb free for OTA so go to here to look at how to free up space, you might also have conflicting package so might need some more help after freeing up space

Unfortunately the best solution is to wait.
There is no other option in the middle of an update. You could try to shut it off and restart it in hopes that it was just some tiny little unimportant thing it got stuck on, but odds are it will not come up correctly and you will have to reflash.

updated over air, installed works fine. No significant changes, nothing new, nothing special. But hey what the heck, its better than nothing. by the way Im inToronto, Canada.
