Agreed. I think it is the Firefox guys who take things too seriously.

In February 2006, Mike Connor, representing the Mozilla Corporation, wrote to Debian and informed them that Mozilla did not consider the way in which Debian was using the Firefox name to be acceptable. Connor confirmed that the Mozilla Corporation was revoking the previous agreement with Debian which allowed them to use the Firefox name. Further messages from Mike Connor clarified Mozilla's current policies: "Yes, if you are shipping a browser called Firefox, we should be signing off on every deviation from what we ship."; and "If you are going to use the Firefox name, you must also use the rest of the branding."
This wasn't because the browser was any different. No, this was because Debian couldn't use the Firefox artwork due to an incompatible license.

This seems to be the whole FSF vs OSI argument again. It is these petty feuds that are killing FLOSS in the eyes of the mass market.

I must agree, this seems all very petty. It's all pretty sad, because just imagine all the wasted energy building and releasing redundant copies of things for such minor things as an icon. That energy could be put to use solving the larger problems that continue to hold back Linux distros from being more widely accepted/used.

Insanity, it's really nothing to do with that. Read the Wikipedia article Qole suggested?

I can't see how it's all very petty; I disagree with Mozilla's (and Joerg Schilling's, in a similar, but completely separate, matter) decision on what steps are necessary to protect their brand, though petty seems the wrong term, but Debian's actions were quite proper. (And it should not be surprising that Mozilla does not share your concern for Linux distros being more widely accepted/used; Debian probably isn't as concerned about it as you two manage to sound, but at least has some interest.)

So I have been messing around with the theme editor and just thought that i would post a screenshot of my theme that i just got done with. This is my first attemp at making one and thought it would give me a chance to show off some photoshop skills...

These are just the icons from the OSX theme, not actually firefox.

That's a great looking theme and desktop! Good job!

Will you be releasing your theme for download?

Today my theme and desktop are:
