I didn't find any way to clip the file using lame. Do you know of any?

The files used by the phone are 1minute long and I assume that you wouldn't have any need for more than that.

Don't think it can do that. Try --longhelp though, it has like 10,000,000 options.

More important issue:

It's now certain that in the current Version Call Monitoring does not work at all on my N900. After 3 Days of uptime there is not one instance of "coming call" in log.txt and I just got a call from a number in my blocked group. Monitoring is set to all (reject priv calls).
What can I do to fix it? It worked in the previous Version.

Please try this:
1. shutdown mycontacts (using the menu option)
2. start mycontacts
3. call your phone number from another line
4. send me the log (/home/user/.mycontacts/log.txt)

The monitoring is working just fine on my phone and not much has changed in this last release. Also, just in case you haven't read it somewhere else: mycontacts will stop monitoring calls if you use the "profiles" to change the ring tone while it is running.

@fcrochik
I have experienced problems with MyContacts twice in the last few weeks I installed latest version. Widget becomes unresponsive(I notice that by avatars not changing orientation when phone does). After I try to interact with the widget OS pops-up a message that MyContacts is not responding.
I have used MyContacts nearly from begging of this wonderful app and NEVER had experienced such behavior. I haven't installed any suspicious apps recently. May be the only one recent addition to my device that intersects with MyContacts features is ProfilesX.

zlatko,

It has happened to me a couple times but not lately. I couldn't figure out what triggers the issue. Unfortunately I don't think it has anything to do with the latest changes since happened before them and to tell you the truth all the latest versions haven't changed much other than the "new qml ui" (mycontacts2).

My impression is that it is somehow related to connecting/disconnecting to the internet and the widget repainting to update the status of the contacts at the same time.

I will review the code and try to add some more logging points in the next release. Please let me know of any details that can help me track the problem.

Hello,

I have just installed mycontacts (0.9.27) for the first time. PR1.3. It was not working for me initially (it would not load/show the list of contacts). I remembered that I had not updated libqtm-contacts in HAM even though it was on list of possible updates as I had no reason to.

I updated libqtm-contacts to version 1.0.2-maemo4+0m5. After updating, mycontacts works properly. I don't know if anyone has brought this up before. I wonder if depencies need amending for libqtm-contacts.

The newest stable version is launching the MyContacts2 every time once I restart the device. Why is this happening and why I can't disable it?

Also, will there be an update, that would address the issue that I've already mentioned earlier on, that being the sorting with contacts alphabetically by the surname? So far its been all the time, in stable versions at least, with first name alphabetical. Example.

Jackson, Michael
Anderson, Nicolas

That is wrong, it should be:

Anderson, Nicolas
Jackson, Michael

Otherwise a great application to use, if you'd just fix the sorting and the search (compare to the stock Address Book/Contacts).

It should be as simple as visiting the settings window or selecting the "shutdown" option - the application will update the settings.

Didn't you like the search on mycontacts2?
I am sorry about the "last name, first name" issue ... It is not something that I heard enough complaints or that I would use so I keep leaving for later....

Nope, the Shutdown did not fix it, it is still showing up after restart. And there's no Settings-panel for it, as far as I can tell. The widget came back as well. Something isn't right in here... And yes, I'll remind you, that I'm using only the Extras-version, not the -Devel/-Testing.

Just tested it and one word. Wow. It is good, I like it, even though it is automatically locked to Caps Lock. For what I tested, the MyContacts2 is far superior to the MyContacts. It also has the Search order in use, what I just whining about (alphabetical surnames).

Keep up the progress, it's going on great!
