I can't stop thinking about the good boy posting "Update available" when it reaches the repos, and all the fanboys saying "oh, no, another troll, when will this stop..."

AND YES, I KNOW YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE ME, BUT IT IS READY FOR DOWNLOAD YET!

EDIT: PROVED-every time a son of ***** like me says "you can download", repos goes down... very very long weekend for Nokia.

If you want to live on the bleeding edge (which the N900 is), you'll have to accept a few hiccups in the beginning.
Alternatively you could buy an iPhone and accept that you can only do with it, what Steve Jobs think you should be allowed to.

Sorry for the rant, but I felt I had to let it out. Still I eagerly await the PR1.2 update as everyone else.

Same problem here.

That was already the marketing definiton of the Nokia N95 back then.
"There is a thing in my pocket. It's not one thing, it's many."
Nokia actually prefered you also didn't call it a phone but a multimedia computer. Boy were they proud of their new brain child at the time.
The Nokia N900 is indentified as an internet tablet with telephony capabilities.
The bigger N810 had ferocious sex with the Nokia N95 and this is the result!

Oh...

And LOL to the people that whine about "please stop posting in here and let it die" or that this thread "is a waste of time". Kinda ironic and a big contradiction to their wish.
Not to mention one could just ignore the thread all together. It won't bite or bark at you when it's present in the topic list!

one year later, true story...

April 1: Nokia releases 1.2 which has just a widget saying you are now on 1.2 and replaces the version on About screen. Talk fires tons of defects 1.2 not really working.
Late April: Nokia agrees on defect and set target release for fixes to be 1.2.1. Thread grows to 70 more pages.
May: Few days before 1.2.1 release Nokia announces 1.2.1 would not be released to minimize integration costs since 1.3 is coming with turn-by-turn so 1.2.1 fixes would be there too. Thread is being renamed to 'Speculation about 1.3), 50 more pages added.
June: Nokia keep silence, thread grows.
July: Garmin releases mini bluetooth device for n900 with GPS lock support and preinstalled Syberia maps.
August: Nokia announce MeeGo will be release soon so there is no sense in 1.3. Thread is being renamed.
...
November: Google releases Nokidroid OS for n900.
Very late December: Nokia releases MeeGo 1.0 with no ussd, no turn by turn, ovi 1.0 with no get a fix possibility, and not working multitouch)
February: Nokia releases minor 1.1 update which fixes nothing. Thread size is now above 1000 pages.
March 31: Talk is waiting for MeeGo Firmware 1.2 which is coming soon.
...
to be continue

At the end, Nokia would release PR 1.2 - but it'd just be a desktop widget which says "PR 1.2"
