Nice to hear that you are looking forward to QSpot on N9.. At least I can say that the porting activity is in progress, I am now trying to optimize the UI for N9 / Harmattan. Hopefully I can publish some screenshots soon. I have applied to the MeeGo device program for a testdevice, so let's see what happens.. This would easy the development considerably as debugging and testing with the emulator is not ideal at all.

I was able to quickly test the working of the libopenspotify library in the scratchbox emulator environment, and it seems to work nicely.. Of some reasons it works in the Harmattan environment but not in the Meego CE. Need to check what can be the cause of this.

I am also planning to add playlist / track caching support to the openspotify library, and thus to QSpot in the near future..

Just thought I would let you know that I have decided to only support and maintain QSpot on the current N900 / Maemo5 platform. There are several reasons for this, one being that developing on the QEMU / Harmattan X86 (Xephyr) scratchbox environment makes testing / debugging of the implementation very problematic (and QEMU is incredibly slow even with dedicated hw acceleration). This project continues to be very important, and I will definitely continue providing updates / new functionality to the current N900 version..

By the way, only one vote missing from the current QSpot version in extras-testing (http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...qspot/0.9.2-5/) in order for it to be promoted to the Extras repository..

In case you have a Spotify Premium subscription, by entering the username and password you should be able to login to spotify with QSpot.

Well you know, never say never.. The problem currently is testing / debugging effectively using only emulator environment due to the external library used (also problem with audio output). In case my n950 devkit application would have been accepted it would have eased development considerably. Anyway it seems that many user would like to see QSpot on the N9. I have done some initial work already on a MeeGo / Harmattan version, it would be nice to continue on it..

Ok. I will not buy n9. Especially without a decent spotify client like an official or Qspot. I will keep using n900 which in my mind, a much better device because of all the apps and hacks available.
