You should read those reviews very closely. Here's a quote from one of my favorites:

"cons:
no skype, its even owned by ms."

Doh!

Besides the needless increase in size, one of the big differences between the 800 and the 900 is the front-facing camera. Why did they bother?

Nokia should have stuck it out on the Linux path [see Android, Google].

I love this:

"Best Sellers in Cell Phones With Service Plans"

Isn't the Lumia 900 free if you're a new AT&T customer? To most of us dumb Americans, it's a free f*ckin' phone!

Best Seller, dollars made: $0

And just askin', but how many people are buying "Cell Phones With Service Plans" directly from Amazon?

Read again, those two top Average user reviews are very well wriiten and sound suspiciously sound like sales hype, each echo the others points very very closely. They both claim to have owned multiple devices (many very recent models) and both are located in Denver US too.

Now I won't dismiss anyone for writing a very well thought out review but these two User Reviews do not follow the usual standard amazon comments of "THIS PHONE IS WINRAR!!!11one, I like the screen"

As for the amazon top sellers list ... If the phone was released two days ago, and its sales have grown 394%, then numpty logic would dictate that they have only sold 394 handsets?

I think Lumiaman might be right, we are becoming too negative

A recently released hyped device temporarily tops amazon near release day and gets reviewed, not surprised.

look at where it is now and what is currently on top:
http://wireless.amazon.com/186-7426678-5063539

Reminds me of the same thing pro-Nokia/WP people pushed for the 800, "800 tops sales charts, doing great", "great customer reviews" when in reality it is not out of the ordinary for a recently released device to do so for a short time near release. In reality it held that spot for 2 days near launch in specific stores. Now look at the Lumia 800 sales and look at its review score on amazon. Do you honestly believe the hype you post?

Besides this is only good news because you seem to be a Nokia supporter but what good is it to me that it temporarily topped the charts? or that somebody who has recently invested a lot of money or 2 years in a device gives it a review which is not out of the ordinary. It's clear that people would justify their purchase especially those who review so soon after purchase, it's the norm for any expensive device. Not to mention that after the Belkin scandal I don't give reviews on Amazon that much weight anyway especially when I read their reasons.

I'm now since a couple days in the US and even though I'm not a fan of Nokia's windows plans, I'm really disappointed that nobody knows about the Lumia 900 and there isn't a single advertisement (even in TV). I'm not in LA or NY, but in a city with +1.5Mio habitants. But I will keep looking for that phone though

The reaction on my MeeGo device was wonderful though. People also didn't know it at all, but were very interested in seeing something that isn't Android or iPhone. In Europe I don't really get big reactions when I take my N9 out of the pocket, but here pretty much all the time I've been ask "What phone is that???". I generally think Americans look much more at their phone (text more instead of calling, look things up etc...)

A guy I met at a meeting used to work for Apple till 2 years ago and was deeply involved in the hole iPhone project (doesn't work there anymore because of working conditions). I was surprised he didn't know the N9 (heard about Nokia using a Linux device(s) but thats all) but even ask me to send him one, once I'm back home

What Nokia does really well is, to provide such a good navigation software. I realized that Americans are so dependent on GPS since street signs are not as clear or just completely missing. My phone could already help out pretty well and I got asked "what app I'm using and if it wouldn't be very expensive to buy such a navigation app".
The Lumia-advertiser should maybe focus a bit more on that... (at least I think the Lumia Drive app works similar to the N9 one).

Well all in all, Nokia presence is unfortunately = 0 but interest is here (at least in MeeGo)

The only reason I might consider a lumia 900 would be if there was some software like VMware so I could run linux on top! But 512MB ram is going even further backwards in time...

As much as I could conspiracy theory all day long, I'm doing my best to stick to the facts. I read enough Engadget comments to believe that every Microsoft employee is a shill.

Even if they sell anything, its a success for NOKIA. There is currently ZERO Nokia presence in the US.
