Maby i modded a bit too much 
I flashed my N900, and did the same thing. Now it works.
MC did that job too.

was thinking it could of been theme dependent for a moment there, but glad its fixed, i think the font i posted is missing the euro sign, that, and any other missing digits in other fonts can be fixed with a font editor

hmm what fonts editor can be used and how, just recordnized the € sign problem.
I live in Germany so its quite neccessary to have it...

Must be the WinSCP method that is succesfull...
I still have no wireless router, and tried in MC and in X-terminal sessions...

for editing fonts, its a demo version, not sure of the limitations but a few years ago i used version5 and that had a 15day trial or something

i think when a problem happens(dodgy font maybe?) , the phone starts reading a different font, maybe the droid one, you have to put the original fonts back and reboot phone and wait till its reading the originals again, before trying to make any changes again, sometimes there no probs and i could swap a font for a different one, but if a problem did happen doing this fixed it for me

@lobi earl ive been trying to change various phone apps text for months, cant seem to find any, maybe its not as easy as symbian was
and i still cant see a virtual keyboard any where in my device even after applying it in settings!
