Cepi, tgalal or berdario should check if it's always the same guy doing google translations. Even if not, every translator who did use google for it should be blocked/banned for the wazapp translation project.

wazapp update will contain a lot of new features, not only protocol changes.

If the protocol fix has been done it should be released as soon as possible instead of waiting for unrelated stuff like translations to be included. It's not nice to keep thousands of wazapp users without any functioning app for many days. Respect must go both ways. Developers should also respect their users instead of treating them as beggars. Please stop pulling out the old argument that the developers are doing it for free. They have been supported by the community with donations.

If the developers are still working hard on a fix please ignore my comments. Your efforts are much appreciated. Some update to keep users informed would be nice. Btw, I do not use wazapp so I have no stake in this.

we don't control the developers to release fixes, take note this is not an official app, if they plan to stop making Wazapp, you could not do anything to them.
I know whatsapp is a good and almost important app be used by major users, I too, my parents are outstation last week and I contacted them using Wazapp.. It was down few days ago and I could not contact them, even today is their flight back and I have no idea which flight nor what time are their flight.. So am I suppose to blame all Wazapp developers for this? No, I should instead be thankful that I could use Wazapp until the day it stopped working, and find another way to contact my parents..

I cannot get the point. Why don't you use text or just call them if it is that important?
IMHO Wazapp, crappy Skype and Co. are all far from essential communication services. However, they can be useful.
I only wonder if the wazapp project is open source or not?
The last commit on github was done 2 months ago (https://github.com/tgalal/wazapp). If the recent protocol update patch would have been sent to github the community would probably have released a working version already.
And, why are there different projects for the N900 and N9 at all? Wouldn't it be more wise to bundle forces?
I just had the idea of implementing the auth process from the (already again working) N900 version in into the wazapp version from github (well I would do this if i had to much time at present which I unfortunately haven't).
Don't get me wrong, I find wazapp a great piece of software and I really appreciate the work of the the developers, I only think a bit more openess could be helpful to let this project grow further!

inte,

you saw only the master branch; the RC branch has commits of a day ago...

tgalal has always been open about the sources and never seeked to hide them...

That's ok, but I think a fix for the master branch (and a 0.2.8 release) coul be prepared in parallel to getting a new major version out.

If the protocol changes are too big for an 0.2.8 release to be feasable then fine.
