My understanding is it doesn't have secure-element/SWP, hence won't be usable for NFC payments.
Even if the necessary support was there in harmattan...

"BUT" apparently there may be the option to add the secure-element/SWP via a sticker or sim.
Not clear on how that works exactly, or whether Nokia would ever support it.

makes me raise another related question. Does anybody know if N9 support SIMToolkit? N900 does not support it :-(

Cause this is used by swedbank. By using SIMToolkit+special SIMCard with crypto it is already possible in sweden to login to bankaccount (atleast swedbank support this) and pay bills etc...

Btw. This also means it may already be possible use same simcrypto on SIM when pay via NFC... IF they get the damn asses going...

Huh? We've always known we'll get a Nokia WP around then.
The 703 most likely. Not a huge threat to the N9.

But if they get the beefier ones out the door earlier than March 2012 (MWC)
Then the N9 will quickly lose focus within Nokia & the mainstream, I assume.

Meh...

The N9 will lose far more potential customers to Android/iOS over the next 6mth than Nokia WP/s IMO.

Yup I know bout seyflop but I thought he meant N9 will come with WP7 in november. Means from november and forward it will ONLY be possible to bu N9 with WP running on it. (I am probadly overreacting I hope...

But lets play devils advocate lets say they come in end of year and say "next upgrade will run WP with swipe UI" now would THAT be best way for that idiot strategy inside MicroNokia?

PERFECT way to kill Meego ASAP.
