True, but all one needs to be is an employee of Nokia and have malicious intentions to take one of PR1.2 builds, modify it, and then "leak" it.
For example: The build is over a month old right? What do you think he could have been doing to it in that month? .
I mean honestly.. if you're a Nokia employee and you want to "get back" at the company, or "support open source!", or whatever misguided ideological philosophy this guy was operating under - wouldn't you release the latest build? Why a month old one?

Like everyone else, I'm using the leaked PR1.2 right now. I'm happy with it, my N900 seems to be faster now. I took 3 test videos yesterday, all 3 available resolutions, and the quality is - as far as I can see - worst than with the prev. firmware. I hope the video will be smooth in the official update.

Yep, impeccable logic, but unlikely. I'm willing to bet $100 that this firmware was not maliciously manipulated by a disgruntled Nokia employee and that no proof of same emerges within the next five years. If you would like to take the other side of the bet, email me at geneven@rocketmail.com and we can make the wager!

That would never be a purpose of a moderated thread here. I don't understand why that would even be in question...

So now there is super high possibility that the leaked fw is the HK version.
