Installs fine with apt-get at the command line.
Runs and seems to be working. (thumbs up)

My guess is HAM was failing out because you had a different version of pyside loaded and HAM wouldn't update the other packages without you telling it too.

Apt would have asked (told) you that the additional pyside packages would be updated to the Extras-Testing version with pyRadio and went ahead anyway.

Thanks for the Thumbs up.

Clean install of 4.2 on an N800 running Diablo. First the good news: Install was successful via HAM (requiring "only" 40 MB "Big" icon correctly appears in extras.

Next, bad news, selecting that icon does "nothing". Not even a hildon banner (is that what's it called?) saying "starting pyRadio" or something similar. In xterm running "python /opt/pyRadio/pyRadio.py" without the quotes generates this error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/opt/pyRadio/pyRadio.py", line 6, in <module>
from PyQt4 import QtGui,QtCore
RuntimeError: the sip module implements API v8.0 but the PyQt4.QtGui module requires API v7.0

Note, I had qt 4.5.3 installed previously for pokerth, but nothing related to pyqt/pyside/py-whatever-the-python-bindings-for-qt-are-called-today

The update works for me. Thanks.

I'm still getting the "music stops randomly, and pyradio must be restarted to start playing again" bug, which is probably related to a library change that came with ASUI. I haven't had a chance to look into it, but if I find anything, I'll post here.

This problem is from a PyQt4 issue with dependencies a long time ago and the fact HAM doesn't update libraries like that very well.

The best way I think to fix it is to reload the library:
Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get remove python2.5-sip4
apt-get autoremove
apt-get update
apt-get install python2.5-sip4

Need some help:

I have pyradio 3.7 installed and every time i try to log in after entering my username (email address) and password (which i verified @ pandora.com) it loops to ask me for user name and password again which i enter again but then it doesn't work and pyradio exits.

Can someone help me with this? Thanks!

Try doing your password wrong one time then try again with the correct password.

Had the same issue, follow instructions per this post and create a config file with your login information. PyRadio should then work fine on next launch.

3.7 is old. You will need a version over 4.0 to be able to access Pandora.

I am able to open and the authentication completes, but once the song information displays, the application closes. No music is played.

It shows the following error:

$ /opt/pyRadio/pyRadio.py
RX-51
Radio Started.
My Only Swerving by El Ten Eleven
Caring Is Creepy by The Shins
The Air Near My Fingers by The White Stripes
10 A.M. Automatic by The Black Keys
Getting next song..

using MAFW Gst-Renderer
PLAY
process 1681: arguments to dbus_pending_call_set_notify() were incorrect, assertion "pending != NULL" failed in file dbus-pending-call.c line 598.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
