Investigate using the flasher to stop the reboots and give you a chance to do the edit

Code:
./flasher-3.5 --enable-rd-mode --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset
--disable-rd-mode is the counter-command.

Do we have a wiki on this?
What does each profile do in a layman's term? I know that this is still devel stuff but clarification on the different profiles and options you could choose from would be great to get exactly what you want rather than a trial and error method.

ammyt, I've read the instruction you post earlier and I want to ask once the reg file has been created. Do I need to select it again if I decide to change my profile later on? Besides, you mentioned to repeat the steps for choosing userbuilt for idle, where do I start? I am sorry for being stupid. Thanks in adv.

Did you do an apt-get install apt-get?
Just paste the commands into xterm.

I've installed the package and following the instructions throughout up to the point that I cannot located the folder /kernel-power-settings and hence the file 'reg' or 'userbuilt'. Any solution? Thx.

You will have to select "root file system" from the left panel, then down to usr, then down to share (sha) then scroll down to the letter k and find the folder called ker.

@ammyt - there is a new KP49 version out there with changed frequency scheme, maybe you should look at KP thread and find a way to support it.
