I'm still alive! I'm doing science and I'm still alive!
... :P
Midterms are ridiculous. Anyway, with spring break coming up, I'll finally have time to roll out the LCARS iconset and some of the generic optimizations I've been promising, plus hopefully some extras from my TODO list.

@rm_you, glad to hear it!

I've got gcse's next year

I have a request for the next version please ,when the brightness is changed, is it possible to write the value to gconf?

/system/osso/dsm/display/display_brightness
/apps/osso/applet/osso-applet-display/brightness

would be the values to write to. that will keep in sync with original applet & maybe restore brightness on startup.

thanks

Unfortunately, there is no real way to keep this in sync with the original applet. It does not handle brightness in the same way, and going back to the original applet is kind of pointless with this one installed...

As far as restoring the correct brightness across reboots, however, you have a point. I will look into using gconf for configuration instead of a text config file (which would mean I wouldn't need to waste time writing a configuration parser! woo!).

If the background could turn blue (or the whole icon a shade of blue when bluetooth were invoked, that would be really neat. Or green when wireless was connected and the aggregate color of bluetooth and wireless when both were connected. One icon to rule them all.

Anyway, just dreaming. It is wonderful the way it is.

There's another thread discussing combining Bluetooth and wifi, (it was actually something that was discussed during development), but the acute lack of documentation or even source code for the statusbar applets kept it from happening either with this or with the newer effort.

Yeah, of all the things to keep closed source, why did they choose what *should* be very simple statusbar applets!? WHY!?!?! >_<

They knew you were coming and might find that information useful.

Watch them laugh maniacally at your pathetic suffering!
