Well, the site's working now but it's still dominated by a huge banner begging people to pledge to download, the actual download link is smaller and at the side. They don't seem to have updated the site at all to take account of it being the 17th.

Aha, now they've got the site updated and working properly, I'm downloading FF3 right now and it's going really quickly.

They've also put up a complete guide to when the 24 hour period ends, and it actually stretches off into the 19th of June in some eastern countries because of the extremely western time zone California is in.

I can tell nobody (except maybe Benson, but I think he's a glutton for punishment) reads my posts.

I downloaded FF 3 about three times during the day starting at around 11 a.m. California time with no problems and blazing speed.

Yeah, I didn't have any problem either (I'm posting from FF3 right now, it freaking ROCKS!)

Here's hoping I was part of setting a world record?

is it really FF3 ?
I downloaded it but the Build Identifier looks old:

Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912 Firefox/3.0
The one I have in ubuntu says:

Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061015 Firefox/3.0
The ubuntu compile looks more recent but it may reflect the date the ubuntu team compiled it.
The May 29th doesn't look good to me.
Also the EULA states May 2008.

I've downloaded the EN-US one from :

a) the getfirefox.com website stating it's the final 3.0
b) the "alternate" download link on that very same page
c) the ftp -> ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/re...3.0/linux-i686

and the size is the same (9083705 bytes).

So.. is this the FINAL 3.0 or still a release candidate ???

UPDATE: also the getfirefox.com states the download should be 9.2Mb big. The automatic downloaded file is 8.7Mb.

Definitely something is not working here.

UPDATE2: even worse, the date of the directories related to the 3.0 release have been created on June 17th (the release date), but the compressed file has been created June 10th! The date the RC3 has been released...in fact, the size of the two files is EXACTLY the same.

Did I discover the warm water or does it simply mean that the RC3 BECAME the 3.0 without any additional patch ?

Got it simply too late
The ubuntu build confused me... also the fact that on Ubuntu I don't see the back button bigger...
Oh well...

Don't worry, I do read your posts, and value them very highly! :-)

I was mainly trying to comment that they finally had the front page completely updated, which is the page that most people would see. For a long time it still had the "pledge" banner even after the "download day" had started.

I should have been a bit more clear about the front page aspect.
