If you have declared your phone in the phone Control Panel Applet
Gnokii-gconf will retrieve its Mac-Address automatically if the information is not setted when you open the (gnokii-gconf) applet.

ok it retrieves it, but it says 'fonction nt yet implemented you'll have to retrieve the bt mac address yourself' it says this when i try to load .gnokiirc file.

When i try to identify the phone it identifies as an ericcsson z780.
i am clueless as to how the prg works, am i supposed to install something else? do i have to hit that button? 'load gnokiirc'?
i searched the web for instructions but did not find any.

thanks.

if there is a Mac Address in the field you're fine
then you should try and find the right model : try with AT
and the right rfcomm channel (from the wiki it looks like 2 or 7 might work for se)
and that's it.
Then launch phonelink and try to dial or send a sms

I assume the "Load gnokiirc file" check box has to be marked.
the phone Model is set to "AT" the mac address is correct.
I tried both channel 2 and 7.
When I open the phonelink app, it says
"This driver doesn't support call signaling. (command failed)"
then when I try to dial it says:
"Telephone interface init failed: Command failed. Quitting"

Any ideas?

well my phone is set up for thethering so in gnokii config the BT MAC is there and correct. hitting the "get phone" button. brings up an error about the function not being available. Fine.
Phone model: Well at this point I've tried:
AT
D211
SiM/USM
SX1
AT
2711
2731
12
20

hitting the "identify phone" button results in an error"gn_lib_phone_open: command failed"
rfcomm has been set to 1.

That's it.

Of course Phonelink can't do squat.

update: setting Rtcomm to 3 causes Gnokii and phonelink to activate a connection to the phone and then error out with : "Telephone interface failed: Unknown error"

Thank you

OK so I've successfully had my phone SE TM506 connect to the phone link app. the mistake I was making was I had marked the checkbox for Load the gnokiirc.

The phone connects, says waiting for call. I can receive a call. I am unable to use both the BT headset at the same time, even though I have my phone setup for multiple BT connections. I've tried all the channels, the only one that really works is channel 4 and 5 also connects to the phone, but can't really make it work.
I am also unable to dial a number from the N800. I get some errors: "Can't dial the phone. The memory location is invalid"

Any ideas?

Sorry, I was sleeping
I should have told you to uncheck the load Gnokiirc ...
What model and rfcomm are you using ?

Not sure what you mean by model.
I have an N800 and the phone is a TM506 SE

for rfcomm:
2 connects quietly and receives calls, but when I try to dial gives me the error about memory location. Also although it receives calls, when I have my BT headset connected as well, when receiving a call I hear nothing, unless I switch the sound into the phone manually from my phone.
4 connects making the phone beep and light up, and when I try to dial still gives the error about memory location.
5 makes the phone connect, light up and beep twice, then it disconnects immediately and gives error: This driver doesn't support call signaling.

Everything else doesn't work.
