There are two closes, one on the top menu layer and the other within the File menu. Top close is really Quit which ends the ap and the File->Close leaves the ap open and minimized. GPE Calendar on my Linux desktop has Close and Quit on the top menu which makes more sense.

Well, I remember before, when you would open it then close a dialog would come up saying that unless you had the home applet running it would just minimize

I'm only familiar with how it is now. The two closes probably exist because alarms are handled within the calendar ap and not using system resources specific to the tablet.

I tried to use the gpe calander from extras-testing on n900
I want to use it to connect to egroupware (groupdav)
If I use SSL I get failed on SSL handshake, and if I use plain http it simply crashes immediately.
Is there any way I can help with debugging this, there is no bugzilla entry for it that I can find.

(I see there is an update in extras-devel, I'll look at that tomorrow and see)
Be good to know where to file bug reports though

Cheers,

Malc

I've installed GPE To-do list 2.8+maemo+svn20091005-1 from extras-testing on my N900 and when i click on the new to-do icon the app closes. reïnstalled it and problem persists.

I'm not using this software as I don't have the N900 yet. I just want to say thank you for taking this further, and for making it more finger friendly. Looks good, too.

If you know how to use the command line, run "gpe-todo" from the command line and see what it says.

ok I don't know how to use the command line.

I suppose I have to open xterminal and input gpe-todo ?

if I do that gpe-todo will open, if I then click on the "new" button (bottom left) the program closes.

That's about it...

edit:

guess you're interrested in what xterminal says after the close;

ERROR:todo-ui.c:187:set_item_state: code should not be reached
aborted

synca, that's apparently a known bug http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...svn20091005-1/
