Folks- I would be interested in trying out some of your ideas. Buzz me if you need additional help for this app

I can volunteer to be a tester for this.

Just wanted to bump this thread, saw that there is now a raw image viewer available in the repository, maybe I haven't noticed it before, but DaVost's script is excellent, any chance for someone to create an app for this that will enable many more less savvy people to open a program and run it along with the camera app to take the pics and then compile them either desktop or on the n900?

flydeep this is the tripod I'm using, the adhesive clips work well, but I wouldn't affix it over a 30story ledge or anything like that...

Guys I need help.

I installed gstreamer tools
I then placed davost's script on my N900's drive in a folder in MyDocs
(This is where I might be doing something wrong but I didn't understand what he meant by

I ran the script but I'm getting an error:
Code:
photo_bracketing.sh: line 3: ./excomp: permission denied
WARNING: erroneous pipeline: no element "pngeng'
Can anyone point out what am I doing wrong or what have I skipped?

MyDocs is partitioned as a FAT volume. He was saying to use anything but MyDocs. Your home directory (~ or also known as /home/user/) is on the opt partition, so it will work.

Thx for the reply.

I'm understanding a lot more now
I ran
Code:
 gst-inspect
and discovered that I don't have pngeng so I'm using jpegenc.

The only thing that remains is that when I'm running the script I'm getting a permission denied for expcomp
Code:
 photo_bracketing.sh: line 3: ./excomp: permission denied
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is live and does not need PREROLL ...
Setting pipeline to PLAYING ...
New clock: GstSystemClock
I know you have to wait a bit for the script to take the picture but it gets stuck here indefinitely and I only get 1 picture.

Any idea why I'm getting permission denied?

bachagabriel: I noticed that you have a typo in your script. It should be "pngenc" not "pngeng". That might help.

Thx for noticing but I used pngenc on my N900.

This is just an error when copying it here on the forum

My problem is I don't understand why expcomp is giving me permission denied

Have you checked the permissions on expcomp? It looks like it's not set as executable.

I'm not proficient in C... All I did was copy the file from davost's script and tried to execute it.

How can I check if it is?
