I hear some people have had some problems with calendar widget eating lot of CPU and thus battery. Try going to X terminal and use "top" to see if there are any programs that use a lot of CPU while the phone is supposed to be idle.

disabled omweather using the internet. only manually update (this could be one of the issues here, you guys should have a look to how this thing is set up. i turned off GSM, WLAN in the settings and update to never. and made sure i only selected my state and no gps locations.)

my battery is at 70% after 6 hours. not bad at all. best day so far.
first time i was able to stay connected to the 3g without fast draining.

hopefully a fix through a firmware update comes before christmas
hey guys i got 23 hours before my phone died.
-2 hours of internet use
-20minutes of Qik live streaming
-30 sms's
-1 hours total calls
-3 hours of playing with my phone. eg: photos, videos, optimisation............

in case a device has the wifi bug and you set it to offline mode (airplane mode), is wifi still transmitting?

Now that's an important question

You are supposed to turn off the device during take-off anyway though, and when you re-open it the bug won't be there

I can confirm this behaviour on my N900. I used wifi this morning in a shop and then disconnected. When I checked my phone just now it was hot and the battery is about 25%. I charged it this morning which is disappointing. I think the issue here is the power consumption when in standby mode. Someone just needs to make a script that will disable everything but texts and calls before we put it into standby mode.

I'm on just 1 bar down since I powered it up for the first time about 21 hours ago. I've only had wi-fi on for about 3-4 hours of that time. No SIM card installed, so nothing consumed there. Turned off vibration for most stuff. Turned off GPS. For me the battery consumption seems on par with what I would expect, so I'm hopeful it'll all be OK when bugs have been sorted out.

I was more thinking of setting the phone to offline mode and back instead of stopping the wifi from the terminal. Wonder if it does the trick?

when i go into "top" it shows pulse audio for 5 seconds with 32% usage i thought this thing should not use that much cpu, not using anything, can media player shortcut on the desktop cause this problem?
