That's exactly what I meant. I have the impression most people who have posted haven't read my original post. I was asking about an app I know about lie/touch/m version of facebook, but I don't want to use them! For my liking they are only 1/2 steps towards a good level of interaction with my facebook friends.

As some people have already outlined, a dedicated app would allow a much smoother more hassle free interaction with facebook content.

@SAKSMAN, you must be joking right? I am not even going to comment on this, it would turn me too much into a big green hulk.

even a web app like "hahlo" for twitter would be good, it hands down beats mobile twitter, and is alot easier to use than the full twitter site.

it may be easier to make that than an app for maemo, i dont know. the downside is needing to pay for a host that has unlimited bandwidth.

i think you are right i dont even use facebook but i can already think of the advantages of using a third party app to access it instead.

like you guys have been talking about speed, customization and as this is would be a comunity based project quick and sort after updates.

Im a junior software engineer i would be happy to help work on this project if some one else would like to take lead.

If the mobile sites are no good, how about telling facebook that and getting them to update the websites?

i believe FB & co keep the mobile/light sites intentionally feature-poor, so the dedicated apps sell better...

and it works, as proven by this thread.

That was basically what I was implying but thanks for making me not think I was too obscure!

saksman's post (and Fargus' reply) regarding viruses on Maemo have been moved to the "Are there Maemo viruses? Is anti-virus software available or necessary?" thread where they are on-topic. Please continue that discussion there. Thank you.
