Has anyone ACTUALLY read the article?

The writer states the N900 can receive MMS messages, but can't send them. Really? 'Cause my N900 can't seem to receive MMS messages. Prolly something to do with the fact that there are no MMSC settings to be changed/added to the phone settings.

Right now, the N900 cell phone can only receive MMS messages but not send them.
If he's so wrong about this, why would anyone pay attention to his article?

And furthermore, MMS should indeed be on the N900. Just because you MMS opponents may be uber geeks, no everyone is a l33t geek like you. People are used to having MMS functionality on their phone.

I bet that when you tell most "regular" folk to email you a picture, they have no idea that their MMS application can also email by entering an email address in the number field.

And besides, why should we MMS proponents have to log into our email account to see an MMS?

If you don't like MMS (be it because all your freinds are l33t geeks, be it because you're with a carrier who charges you per MMS message, or whatever the reason), then you have the right to not use it.

And to the poster who just had to bring the iPhone into this conversation with saying that iPhone users didn't care they didn't have MMS for three years, I ask you: Why in hell did Apple bring MMS support to the iphone then? Surely, it must be because the iPhone community didn't complain about lack of MMS support?

mms will come- its been promised- its not a big deqal- thats the point..

the big deal is sorting out the bugs- then onto some serious changes to really usefull apps- nokia maps etc..

as far as the majority are concerned mms is not material-- the people that do seem to want it over important stuff- really should never have even gone for this phone in the first place- as an android or iphone would have been more up there street

aghhhh ffs can you all stop whining its becoming a little bit annoying.

A few months ago people realised the N900 would not have mms as standard.
And since then it has been requested, with a brainstorm active too.

If what is being done is not good enough i suggest adding sensible comments to the brainstorm. They may get listened too. (Tis true, people sometimes listen and help, especially in communities) - also get on bugzilla when/if needed

There are two sides:
  • Yes i want MMS - and i either need it now, or it could be useful
  • No i don't need it, or No i don't and you other lot are wierd....

Doesnt matter which side you sit on, but the more that is posted on either side wastes breath and typing skills that could be whining about the iphone! or other useful whining subjects!

Oh, one guy, sorry the rant is not aimed at you - twas just an example of the posts on here

I appreciate that, but I don't see where I was "whining"... maybe you should find a more appropriate post where someone is actually whining, be it for or against MMS support?

Sorry pent up frustration from lots of these posts
was a bit of winge winge in there.

And bit confused, read back all the posts again, and yup, winge winge.

Back on topic though. in similar vain to the delivery threads again, have we got a list of what is/isn't being included in detail? - ie what mms functionality will definitley be in the patch?

(Sorry, not sure if it's held somewhere, or is even available!)

this statement is simply not true..
MMS may not be #1 on my list either, but it's exclusion was one of the hottest topics on most iphone forums when it wasn't in that device.
Now that it's included in the iphone, it's a non-issue.
It is a very popular form of sending pics/short vids with everyone I know, excepting maybe tech types..
like it or not...

ahh now it is more clear to me.. it is the usa that is screaming for mms..
Because i thought who is using mms?? I know not 1 person that sens mms.. i think in all my live i received 1 and i send 1 (and i thing that was just for testing)

So what i read here that the usage of sms and mms is 1:1 ? what?? i think it is not even 1000:1 but way more..

Also mms is cheap (cheaper then the internet bytes)? i guess thats the trick then.. mms is expensive.. i get send pretty much unlimited emails through my phone and that only cost me 10 euro a month.. (besides then ofcourse other internet useage) and a mms with a image is i 50 cents!! So why on earth would i send one?

No, mms is at the bottom of my list what nokia should spend its time in. Let the community do that.

What nokia should fix is 1 other thing that phones of 5+? years all already have: Voice dialing.. Because this can cost me a big fine if the cops see my calling now in my car (around 200 euro)

Does anybody have any real numbers on MMS usage? Sorta tired of the pulled out of thin air (or elsewhere) numbers based on such a myopic view of who uses what and how it's used.

I know that I rarely get e-mails from people using their cellphone just to send a photo on their cellphone.
