Thanks to Jakiman for this help.

I downloaded the updated fcam drivers from here (put them in MyDocs)
http://n900.tannerlab.com/kernel/fca....7-1_armel.deb

Then installed them with xterm:

cd /home/user/Mydocs
dpkg -i fcam-drivers_1.0.7-1_armel.deb

Camera working again.

For me it works! Just restart your device after installing the update.

I overclocked you n900 earlier and all running well up to 1.15ghz When I a added quick start tabs to my desktop I wanted to then check al was still working on the phon only to find the camera had failed... I looked at all the options and started with the easiest first... check the 8 gig card no..checked the hard disk with my pc... no.. removed the cam panarma n900 and that was it... I urge anyone with this prob... before deleting the kernal remove the panarama.. hell dod you really need it????

Thanks to the guy who first mentioned this.. a few pages back.. you know who you are...

1. Uninstall fcam application
2. Install the Blessn900 application
3. Restart

Hope that works for you
@ Anla -- cheers! Your suggestion worked perfectly for me. I had the dreaded 'Operation Failed' message when I tried to use my camera. It was really frustrating when the camera stopped working - esp. when I missed a couple of great opportunities to capture my kids playing in the snow.

Now the camera is back in working order and it was a simple procedure to resolve. I was not looking forward to trying a reflash of the N900.

Thank you for making the time to post.

hi i recently bought a N900 off ebay and everthing works fine apart from the cameras front and back not working
front camera says Error: Resource not found tested using mirror
back camera says Operation Failed just after you open lens cover using standard camera app + blessn900
methods tried so far
1. full reflash using flasher 3.5 and NSU
2. Fcam driver install + reboot
3. Format memory in windows and did error check
4. uninstall fcam and install blessn900 + reboot

are there any other methods that can be tried as its a shame not to have a camera
thanks

I just uninstalled BlessN900, restarted and now all good. Never used Bless so not a big deal. I didn't have fcam installed either but consider removing that too and check it out. You can always re-install easily enough if you really want it..
