hopefully in 6 they will also re-format the page to fit in portrait mode. What sense does it make to have to slide the screen left and right to read text on the page? smh!!!

What it is confirmed is that Maemo 6 is fully operated in portrait mode. This is well known for many months now. The question of Maemo 6 update to the N900 is still a mystery.

Ooooo...that's spiffy. I like portrait mode. Or more importantly, I like the idea of having the "choice" to go to portrait mode for viewing. Very much in line with the ideals behind Linux itself. Choice is all that matters.

Updated. That took a while, didn't it?

This stuff is great. GUI fixed, it's all springy and fast now, most bugs gone, updated QT so the 3rd party apps now work fine, browser flip, the works.

This is way beyond what I expected a January release to be. Good stuff, Nokia.

How are you guys pressing ctr shift o? This keyboard is so small it seems to be made for people under 6'1" with smaller hands and fingers. My fingers don't fit. Can this please be the N900 mini? Can you just bring back the N810 sized screen, keyboard and dpad and call it N910 or something. How is this N900 going over with the Dutch? Average male height there is 6'1" so they are not going to have little fingers and little pockets.
Next time you hear someone make a "this is too big" comment about a Nokia product find out how big they are.

I'm 1.92m, no issues.

Left hand, do the victory sign (2 fingers). Rotate hand 90* CW. HOLD shift and ctrl. At this point, I look like I'm biting it sandwich style. Right hand, tap O. Same for P (screen shot) and similar. A table helps.

I agree that Ctrl+Symbol would be better but I'm not sure it works that way - I don't think the blue arrow actually gets pressed in programs, it's just at OS level for input.

As for move-symbol-to-bottom or other keyboard layout issues, there's plenty of threads. Nothing can be done now (except map them and swap buttons yourself). If you do, I've never met you.

Has anyone already reported that long press doesn't work in portrait mode?
