I went in to T-Mobile today and got the $29.99 EvenMorePlus 500Talk and $10.00 PhoneFirstWebPlus. They will tell you the ''unlimited web for other phones'' won't work because its a smart phone, but i wanted all to know it will. BTW if they ask if your a AAA member just say yes and that will give 6% off and first month free and no contract or activation fee. My first payment is due 5/1/2010 for $29.67, sweet! Hope this helps.

AAA-Shoot, have it, but didn't mentioned it.

I got the same as you, but didn't do the $10.00 "Unlimited Web for phones" till now online. Had to change to internet2.voicestream.com for it to work. other than that, works great.

speedtest.net
ping 342
download .5-.97Mb/s
upload .32 Mb/s

Edit....
By the way.

Bought a Motorolla W233 phone off craigslist. Went into the store with that phone and got a SIM card only. just an FYI.

Last edit...I promise.
Called T-mobile (cried about activation fee/etc..)
Evidently AAA discount is gone (the guy told me it was 14%, but only on the 2 year contract..not sure...) Activation Fee would have been waived.

I'm hoping someone perhaps familiar with phones and T-Mobile's offerings might be of assistance.
After reading through this and similar threads, I'm about to buy an N900. I currently have the National 400 plan from T-Mobile (an older plan, I believe) on a Sony-Ericsson TM506.

With my current phone, can I change my plan as directed in this thread and switch the SIM with the N900, or do I need a more advanced handset than the TM506?

Can you please clarify how these plans cannot be overridden? If I buy an unlocked blackberry and have no contractual obligations for a data plan, can I still not get the $5.99 Tzones?

Thanks.

hit next when you get to the Tmobile gprs part then change the apn to Internet2.voicestream.com. ,Leave everything else blank and hit finish. That should be it

Can anyone confirm this?
I am ready to get a dataplan on my phone, but I wanted to make sure before I go withthe $10 dollar plan. I really dont want to go through all of the customer loyalty part if I don't have to.

no, not exactly the same. im not sure if anyone else pointed this out, but there is a difference. i tested both the smartphone and dumbphone internets 3 gtimes each from speedtest.net

smart and dumb internet had almost identical download and upload rates, but the response times for smartphone internet were in the 100s of ms, as opposed to the dumbphone internet being in the 300s of ms...
