I'd never trade the precission of a resistive touchscreen for some gimicky multitouch, and N900s touchscreen is almost as sensitive as cap. screens. I would, however, pay for the Stantum resistive touchscreen update.
As for AMOLED, battery savings are minimal, while you loose the ability to read anything on the screen in a direct sunlight/strong light source, and mobile devices are mobile precisely for the reason to be able to use them when outside...
