thumbs up Joorin!

Do you have any idea how to fix the stuttering audio?

When the display dims and when I multitask the sound stutters.

Could you please start an XTerminal and try to start the client using
Code:
/home/opt/footify/usr/bin/footify.sh
and supply the output?

The 0.0.5 package has an application icon that should show up (I had to reboot my device for it to appear but I'm still on PR1.1.1 and this might have been fixed in PR1.2). If you still get the blur stadard icon, something is broken.

Hi,

I can run it fine through XTerm.

However, there is no icon (not even the blue placeholder) in the menu, and clicking on the footify text below, crashes hildon.

Yes, the same thing happens here, there is no icon for footify and hildon crashes when I try clock on the footify text.

Launching footify through xterminal works

My best guess would be to introduce some kind of buffering. But after having spent some time thinking about this, and looking at how despotify works, it seems to be a pretty big change.

I would have to redesign some central parts and I've only just got it work a little better.

Have you upgraded to PR1.2? Is there perhaps some differences there?

My footify.desktop file is a modified version of the file I was given earlier:
Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Version=0.0.5
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Footify
Comment=(Might be an) Open source (de)spotify application
Exec=/usr/bin/footify
Icon=footify
X-Icon-path=/usr/share/icons/
X-Window-Icon=footify
Type=Application
Perhaps something is missing?

There should be a link for the icon that looks like this
Code:
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/footify.png -> ../../../../../../home/opt/footify/usr/share/icons/footify.png
Everything in the package is owned by root with 644 or 755 bits as appropriate.

EDIT:
After looking http://wiki.maemo.org/Desktop_file_format I see that the Version field is for something else than I thought. Changing it to
Code:
Version=1.0
might do the trick. Here is an updated deb with that change.

With the kind help of SpeedEvil in #maemo-devel the problem has been debugged and solved.

PR1.2 is much more picky with how resources are indicated, meaning that my relative path to point at the icon broke hildon-desktop in two. Nice bug if you ask me.

So, here is version 0.0.5-3 with absolute paths for both the "binary" and the icon.

It helped me to work out some details of how apps are packaged in my head too - which is all good.
Thanks.

good job Joorin! It,s working great now! no crashes anymore.
one thing which can be interesting, the shuffle button doesn,t work anymore.
Also, is there any chance to implement something to do fastforward. for example from 0:00 to 1:15?

keep up te great work!
