And it would be possible in the App-listing for the folder to identify the apps have already been assigned to a folder? For example, by a check mark or the name of the folder where the app is integrated.
What do you think of the ideas?

Here is a screenshot of my menu

Every app that is installed later, is once more in the main menu and you can then assign a category.

ApMeFo is in the oposite to Categorize and myMenu only to make your menu totally manually and customized. (as YOU want it) - So the Apps are not automatically sorted in folders. You have to create the folders yourself.

You can though manually edit the files and add automatic categorization. This has been implemented on Catorise quite well, didn't seem to work so well when I did it manually (meaning time before ApMeFo, when one had to all .menus and .directories manually). Sure, I got Ovi Store and X-Terminal automatically categorized but those went to System instead of Network and those two were quite literally the only ones that even closely worked.

So, as stated above, you'll need to adjust the new app manually (unless you want to do the categorization, experience really crappy categorizing and possibly switching to Catorise, then go ahead and add it, I don't recommend it at all).

Great work indeed.

I'm pleasantly surprised that I don't see the hildon-desktop bug using this app.

[Request] make it possible to filter out the previously catagorized apps from the app selection menu [/Request]

thanks for the app!

The main way of editing Catorise's menu is to edit /opt/catorise/menu, a simple file with the format:

Code:
desktop-file-name: section

Thanks. However, the battery drain isn't Catorise specific. It'll affect ApMeFo too. It's a bug in hildon-desktop introduced in PR1.2: #10412.

Well, mine too. I've not seen the bug either. Perhaps it's a specific .desktop file which causes it?

Maybe it's because Catorise is using the system wide hildon.menu while ApMeFo only writes to the .local one?
According to a comment on #10412, it's reproducible by updating the local one.

Nice app
where can I copy custom icons without replacing other icons? I tried /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon and were able to select them but they dont show up i just get this blue square.

Edit:
Forget about it I just needed a restart to reload the cache...
