You might want to read the follow articles discussing the development of the 12MP sensor in the N8 - the large sensor (4000x3000 pixels) is put to very good use when recording video.

It just a mock up! It can be anything there. I did a quick imagination that's all.

I would be okay with 800x480 res screen. But I would love it if it was HD res instead like the 2nd rumoured spec suggest. I was hoping it can do 1080p HDMI and video record/playback but I guess we'll have to wait till next year for such hardware.

I hope the level of compression for photos and videos isn't too high.

It looks every bit a successor to the N900 and I cannot wait for it to be released.

Sorry, the camera comment wasn't in relation to your blueprint (which I loved and thanked you for!)

I also read the articles on the camera. I'm really glad that Nokia is taking optics seriously and moving beyond just applying a noise filter to the camera output. I even see that they said they are using a larger chip (1/1.83", iirc).

That being said, I'm not convinced that the same results, or better, couldn't be achieved with a lower resolution sensor. Basically, at around 2 microns per pixel (or 8MP or so for this size chip) you simply aren't able to resolve any additional image detail. There is a great explanation of why this is here: http://petavoxel.wordpress.com/2010/...raction-fraud/

The only reason to have a 12MP camera is for marketing, i.e., "you think 6MP on the iPhone is good, check out our TWELVE MP phone!" Maybe this sort of marketing is what Nokia needs to get back in the game, but I want to buy from a company that presumes for, rather then against its customer's intelligence.

Lets hope that Nokia releases specs for N9 at the NokiaWorld next month, before this speculations start getting way too ridiculous....

Specs listed by NokNok get me VERY excited... On one hand I think "these are just too good to be true, there is no way this is possible", on the other hand I think "these might not be unreasonable, especially for a big company like Nokia with a history of making great hardware...

And, on my third hand I think "Ok whoop-de-doo, hardware is great, but software might have some fails like this n900 thing I bought so quickly"

either way, that specs list, unfortunately, got me excited about buying one...

Well one thing that the new N9 battery got is that it's 3.8V compared to all other Nokia batteries that are 3.7V like most other phone batteries around there.

a bandwidth budget, but nevermind, you can always deres
